Here in Australia yes they say certain words different such as

Status , Project etc but the one that does my head in & discussed it with them everytime is the word Maroon they just can’t say it properly. They say Maroan , think of Ma & then Roan as if you say the first part of Ronan ( as in Ronan Keating) .

Maroan I tell them how do you say Marooned it’s not Maroaned or even Maroon 5 . The colour Maroon they just can’t say it properly & when as now the Rugby League State of Origin is on with Queensland called the Maroons all the time said Maroans I just want to put my foot through the TV shouting it’s Maroon you mugs

Any others that wind you up?

Some of these aren't really open for debate . For example, the correct term is espresso , anyone who calls it an expresso is a ****.

Haytch was usually the way the kids in the remedial reading class would pronounce it , nowadays every spastic is doing it.

I find the hard of learning say Chiles when meaning Charles and Coal when meaning Carl.

Yes, I've been thinking the same whilst watching Origin .... especially when they are referring to the Marrown who is 'on dayboo', rather than 'making his debut'!!

Not a mispronunciation, really, but people who say "ass" instead of "arse" because they think it sounds cooler give me the right radge.

One of the fellers I work with is Spanish and was talking about another feller's hair, which is in a quiff. It sounded like John Merrick sneezing.
