Yeah, 15000 btu portable job, rated for 400 sq ft. A smaller unit would’ve been fine, but does a fantastic job and cools our bedroom beautifully on the lowest setting.

I seriously recommend everyone gets one, but get one off Gumtree if you can find one.

Amcor CPLMB15KE-410. Not sure if they make this one any more but they all seem much of a muchness to me.

A smaller unit would have suited our room just fine.

Cheers, I am getting seriously irritable at home as its like a sauna in here at the moment.

How much effort is it 'setting it up' at night? What do you do, put a hose out of a window or something?

No time at all - hose in the back to the window, and it came with a sort of gasket thing that the hose fits into, and I just close the sash window over it. Meant to be a bit fiddlier for more traditionally opening windows, but you can probably just make something out of good cardboard. Set up or packed away in a couple minutes.

Looking for additional units for the kids rooms now.

On tick over, the fan is noticeable, but not too intrusive. Large desk fan loud. When the compressor kicks in, it’s very noticeable. Ear plugs might be needed for some people, or just learn to get used to it if you want to run it overnight. I switch mine on a couple hours before we retire.

That is definitely a unit for larger rooms - screwfix do a 9000BTU unit brand new for £250 which might be more appropriate (and has a warranty). Would be a bit quieter too, I expect.

I could do with a day off of this now! Just one, then it can go back to being warm. Getting naff all sleep and I’m highly irritable because of it.

Loving the heat, but it's nice to have a day off from it today.
