scanner help

i can not get my scanner to work i keep getting the following message whenever i try to scan but it looks like printer ans photcopier isworking ok
the hp photosmart series 5510 was not found



any help very welcome as it is my lifeline to scan my badhes and put them on my website

Are you trying to use it via a USB cable or over you home network?

Try scanning to a memory card and see if that works. I always struggle with my HP printer scanning to my laptop and end up scanning to a card and putting that in my laptop.

If it's a USB scanner DO NOT attach the USB cable to the scanner until asked for in the installation set up. IT can really banjax the drivers and installation prog if you do.

thanks everyone my wife is trying to get it to work via a oc useing a usb cable up untill a week ago it was working fine but now that message keeps appearing


she has tried connecting wirelessly which works however still unable to scan

Reinstall the drivers chap, probably find that a windows patch has balls them
