A few months ago a couple of Jehovah's Witnesses called at the door and as it was raining I said ' Come in and have a cup of tea ' - I added that I was interested in World Religion and in why some people believe in Religion , I went on that I didn't have any particular religion myself and although I was quite happy to discuss religion and the Bible that was as far as it went .

I asked them on their thoughts on Homosexuality and said that any religion that stood against the LGBT Community was evil .
One of them replied that he had many Gay friends but that ' God has standards ' - I laughed at that one .

I then said that I'd listened to a podcast on the Howard Hughes Show by a Flat Earth Society member , Mark Sargent and how well he had presented his case for a flat earth - both Witnesses smiled at this point - I couldn't help but notice the irony of the situation . :)

Did you ask them their views on blood transfusions?

Yes , they have an answer for everything these days , whether you choose to agree with them [ I don't ] is another thing - they advocate using plasma or some sort of blood substitutes and even go round hospitals giving their advice on such matters , apparently some surgeons are listening [ not sure how true that is though ] .

^^ Yep, that's what my local Jehovas say. Depending on what medical expert you read/listen to, there is an argument there, although the majority do say there is no substitute for the real stuff.

Depending on my mood I like to have a chat with them, it interests me speaking to people about their faith/religion. I sort of get it why they would follow due to faith and the comfort it brings them, but like many Americans I find many religious people pretty insular - in my experience anyways.

As TOMOS says, they have a counter argument for everything, conspiracies etc.

My favourite conspiracies have to be all of those surrounding CERN and what they really do there, I love the idea that some kind of Stranger Things multi-dimensional craziness going on.
