Bitcoin

Postby Harry Hound on Wed Oct 17, 2018 5:20 pm

I'm looking to buy some bitcoin, I've been on a few sites but they're asking for information I'm not prepared to give such as my full name, telephone number, copy of my drivers license and e mail address??? All sounds very dodgy to me.
Has anyone bought bitcoin, if so how did you go about it?

Most reputable firm I have heard of is Coinbase, it's got backing and investment from some of the major investment banks in the US as well as the NYSE.

They are the company asking for my details, I thought the idea behind bitcoin was that it's anonymous. Giving out such details over the internet seems very dangerous and they will have my bank account details as well as my personal details?

It's basic fraud prevention I think from the sellers side.

If you buy some you can always use a Cryptocurrency tumbler or cryptocurrency mixing service to anonymize your bitcoin.

That sounds very technical, all I'm looking for is getting a small amount of bitcoin to resubscribe to a football streaming site that now only take payment in bitcoin.

Yesterday while I was in Clapham Junction I saw a bitcoin machine.
So if you're anywhere near Clapham go to the newsagents next door to Barclays bank opposite the main entrance to the station and he has a Bitcoin ATM. It's a real thing.

Do the coins have a picture of Bobby Moore on the back?
