New Years Resolutions

Postby sendô on Mon Dec 31, 2018 12:41 am

It's that time of year again, and apparently it's the done thing to promise to change something about yourself because the year has a new number.

So I'm going to try and stop using alcohol as a means to dealing with work related stress. Perhaps I'll switch to crack or heroin, not sure yet.

Anyone got any good ones beyond the usual?

I’m a nightmare for McDs breakfast. Two years ago I made it a resolution to stop having them and it worked for 18 months but I’ve been a nightmare lately so that’s back on the resolution list.

I’m doing the London Marathon in April so after NYE I’m not drinking until late April.

I’ve also resolved myself not to look at the utter garbage on the Apple news app.

I never make any.
I'd never keep them, if I did.

Can’t see the point of them tbh.

If you need to change something in your life (lose weight, quit smoking/booze, relationships etc.) why wait?

I might do dry January, as I try to take a month off the booze every year and the 6 nations starts in February with England v France, so beer will flow!

Last year I set myself the target of reading every day. I knew I almost certainly wouldn't achieve it, but more importantly I've got back into the habit of reading regularly and have averaged just over a book a month this year, which I'm really pleased with.

Next year's resolution is a bit different, to look after myself more.

I don't do resolutions. I just have ongoing goals that roll over year to year. Not sure why people wait until january the 1st. If someone really wanted to do something then why wait? Why not start at the time you decided to do it? I'm looking forward to the gym being packed all january as people start their health related resolutions. Always quietens down by February... people give up quick.

To have a holiday for the first time in God knows how many ****ing years. But, this year it's gonna change and it's gonna change soon too and when I do, I'm gonna have the time of my ****ing life. Don't give a **** where I go, so long as it's somwhere, hot, sunny, it's got swimming pools, sun loungers, decent grub and drink
