KUMB Photography Thread

Anything goes in The Snug, General Discussion's rebellious little brother. An off-topic den of iniquity where any subject not covered elsewhere may be discussed. Well, anything except golf, Star Wars and Arsenal.

Took the camera out to a tiny village on The Medway called Upnor today. 7 minute drive away, so not too far!

ToMoS - That one with the cows is stunning

ha, no. Still a couple of years away from that. I've managed to get him up to Kinder Scout via Jacobs Ladder and that was about his limit at the time. We went on four walks last year to gently get him into it - this year there'll be lots more. Would be nice to take him scrambling when he gets much older but my other half has seen my headcam footage from my last days scrambling, and there's no way she's going to allow it!

Cheers dude.

I use a Canon EOS600D, and usually a standard 18-55mm lens.

Great photos DL. Upnor is a nice little place. I like the Tudor Rose pub. Shame it's a Sheps pub mind. Where do you live? I am only a ten minute drive away from there myself?

They are such friendly creatures who seem to love getting their picture taken. I'll try and upload one of mine later.

Been out all afternoon visiting Duffus Castle and Lossiemouth - took the camera with me , might work on some tomorrow .

Found a great little cafe , the Ponderosa - 3 slices of home made cake [ coffee , victoria sponge and bakewell tart ] and a pot of tea for 3 came to just 9 pounds . We'll be going back . Friendly old fella too .

You don't need to spend much money at all, but without the camera in the car, they wouldn't be got.
There's probably tons of stuff local, be it if you're lucky enough to have plenty of green space, in an urban sprawl, or even a 20 minute drive away - you don't have to look too hard to find stuff to take pictures of.
One of my best ones on the first page of this thread, I didn't even need to leave the boundary of my own property.
As for changing vocation - I wouldn't want to lose the love for it and have the pressure of relying on it as an income.
^^^All the above is bang on.
I just want to visit so many of those places!

DL, some of your colours are so striking, are they 'as taken'? Is it just the quality of your camera?
I'm not accusing you of any 'adjusting', btw.

A few of my (pretty crap) ones.

This was actually taken through a car windscreen whilst driving in Wisconsin:

It's to do with the quality of camera, my eye, and a bit of adjusting
