I have had a beard for about 6 years now, mainly coz I couldn’t be arsed to shave and it meant I could spend an extra 5 minutes in bed. It’s generally received well by the ladies - I have a shorter version of Eric C with my chin dipped in Tippex, rather than Saddam who looks like he’s fallen into a barrel of road marking paint.

I have had a goatee for about 10 years now and about once a year I'll shave it all off but I am then reminded why I grew it in the first place - it covers up my double chin!!
Mine is a tri-coloured beard with black pepper, white pepper and some rogue ginger whiskers for good measure. I'm happy with my beard overall and the only downside to it is the occasional build up of food particles.

Worrying about other men's grooming habits?

I suggest getting out more.

I look like Terrence Stamp as General Zod with a beard.

I may have done, I can’t remember. I don’t say it a lot, though. Someone saw a picture of me on someone else’s Facebook and drew the comparison, and I thought “yup, he’s got a point”.

Somebody once told me, people don't argue with a man with a beard. Is this true ?

Whenever I have attempted to grow a beard I've shaved after about 5 days because my face becomes too itchy.

I am, in the words of The Beefeater, "between beards". I had a beard. I shaved it off. I am growing another beard.

This is mainly cos I hate shaving

Funny Puff should have started this thread. I haven't liked to mention it but I currently have the longest facial hair that I've ever had. Just my luck though, now I can actually grow a beard, I look like Captain Birdseye.
Am considering colouring it a groovy colour, like Billy Connolly did/does.
Can also confirm that licking food plates without getting any of what you're licking on your beard, is actually impossible.

I have to agree with Mb. People have started keeping away from me more but of course that may just be because my face is covered in gravy & ice cream.
Or they think I'm fundamentally religious.

Had a small goatee beard for about 13 years now.It cuts my shaving time in the morning from 10 or so minutes to about 30 seconds. That'll do :)
