Thnkfully missus jaye has the same view as me, that it is all commercialised clap-trap .... no need to be pressured into paying over the odds for stuff that is usually far cheaper.

What sort of stuff is more expensive on Valentines? Genuinely curious.

Thankfully, The Lovely Ms. Eggs has the same outlook to Valentines Day as me; a load of over the top, commercialised b******s!

We're quite capable of giving each other treats and surprises all year round, without the need of a day to tell us to do so.

Just another opportunity for anyone in a relationship that's lasted more than ,say, 6 months, how much less complicated their lives once were.
I buy flowers every week, they cheer me up, wasted on any partner though.

We don't do valentines. Why spend money on flowers on the day of the year when they are most expensive?
There is nothing romantic about making a gesture on a day when you are expected to make that gesture. If you want to buy her roses or chocolates do it next week or next month or whenever or never. If that makes or breaks your relationship then you're well shot.

Also Valentines day is the worst day to go out for a meal, restaurants are full, waiters overworked and you are likely to get a sub standard meal from a set menu. Go out any other mid week day in February and you will have a much better experience.

Valentines day used to be the day when a person sent an anonymous note to their secret love. It has now just become another day of Clinton milking more money out of suckers.

My other half doesn't eat vegetables and it drives me potty that she can't even be bothered to put a few frozen veg in the microwave.

So, for valentines day, i've bought her a huge bag of frozen veg. I'm even going to wrap it up.

This is in conjunction with the £1 engagement ring from poundland.
