iPod/iPhone question

Postby prophet:marginal on Thu May 16, 2019 8:33 am

I've got an iPod, and appear to have unwittingly pressed some button or whatever.

Every 20 or so seconds, it has started to announce 'Siri not available, unless connected to internet'.

All well and good, but how do I make it stop, without dashing it to the floor and jumping up and down on it?

It is starting to properly aggravate me!

Any advice, aside from the obligatory wiping-related tasks, most gratefully received.

Have you tried switching it on and off again? Or googling the issue and looking for a resolution?

Try holding down the lock button & home button at the at the same time. The phone will turn itself off and do a hard reset.

I have to do this once a month so that the b*stard thing will connect to WiFi consistently.

Surely just go into Settings and turn off every option related to Siri to Off...

That would appear to be the logical response.

Give it to the youngest person in your IT department, they'll sort it.

They won't know what an iPod is. Will wonder why he isn't just storing his old man music on his phone....

Note to self: Read before answering the question.

An iPod? Radical, dude.

IT department? That's a single ZX Spectrum.

I think I've found the answer.

Thanks for all the responses; the confusion is that I never knowingly turned the damn thing on in the first place!

In the god's honest truth, I actually don't own a mobile. I have the use of a work one, but that's it.

As for the 'old man music', you are quite right, you young shave. 10 days worth, too, I'll have you know, from Gregorian chants, to Dave.
