Didn't you hear they were given some leave due to the heavy fixture list lately, and for those in the know, one can't spend money to aid recovery no matter how much it is.

He hasn't been involved in either of our last two FA Cup games, and obviously isn't going to be involved monday. So he's been given a few days off to with what he pleases. Not sure there's much of an issue with that.

With that fat lip of his, he is probably standing in for King Louie on the Jungle Book ride.

Nothing wrong with Cole being at Eurodisney, nothing wrong with the first team players having their days off. Some of our key players need to be rested for the Burnley game and keeping them away from our "fitness" team is probably a good idea

I just hope Wally Downes is working hard with Da Costa, Reid, Spence and whoever else is pencilled in to play in defense next Monday, because that's where there's some need for improvement

davids cross wrote:I would think long and hard before playing Ba in this game. With Keane out for 3-6 weeks (which ever report you believe) any injury to Ba (who we know is delicate) would rob us of the two real goalscorers we have. To see him and Keane ruled out for a month or two would be catostrofic. Unless they feel he needs "game time" to get fitness

I'd go along with that.

Sure, I'd like us to pick the strongest team, but it's a balancing act, as my first call would be to give Scott Parker the day off.

I would like us to start with:- Hines, Spector, Hitz (if fit enough), Stanislas (I assume he is injured tho'), Barrera,
And feel we should rest:- Parker, Ba, & anyone coming back from injury who is the slightest doubt.

It also depends on who is fit. No idea if Upson, Gabbs and/or Tomkins will be available. If one of those are fit, I'd pair them with Da Costa, ideally Tomkins ***

I'd go something like:-

----------Boffin
Faubert-MDC-***-Bridge
Barrera-Spector-Hitz-LBM
---------Cole-Hines

Benni mac and Illunga are both able to play in the cup - I'd give them both a game .

Ilunga - yes, as a rest for Bridge.

McCarthy - what's the point?

I'd use this game as a perfect opportunity to trial another combination of a strikeforce, rather than perhaps going into another league game still with questions.

That is why there is absolutely no chance of me attending this game.

I'd give Parker a break as he looks shattered. Ba should be rested entirely or used from the bench as he had his first full 90 mins for over a month on Saturday. Bridge rested as he is the only left back available for the league, I'd use the same logic for Jacobsen and reluctantly play Faubert. Assuming Tomkins and Upson are out it will be a totally make shift defence but gives them a chance to improve on Saturday's shoddy first half display!

My team

Green
Faubert-Da Costa-Reid-Illunga
Spector-Hitz(for an hour if poss)-Noble-Boa Morte
Piquionne- Obinna

I think Victor might need a bit more rest for that foot - but otherwise that looks ok - another option is also to rest noble and stick LBM in the middle with Barrera out wide?
