Thought Faubert was poor today....didn't bother to overlap in the 2nd half and when given stick for it he arrogantly went back to his blame everyone else old self. Piq had a mare after he missed that sitter. How he didn't get taken off...i will never know.

My main problem today was lack of workrate ...making options. Far too many times there were players standing still instead of making runs and giving movement.

Ref was atrocious...how was that NOT a pen. Hold your head in shame shorty.

They all should be more productive, but there are times when Faubs justifies his position in the team at the moment.

If we go up, he'd clearly have to improve to trouble most LB's, but you might be being a bit harsh on him...

Good shifts:

Bad shifts:

McCartney did ok.

Three points, relief, but that was it. A very good defence splitting pass from Noble aside, very little entertainment.

First shout looked a pen, second never was.

Not sure what game you were watching Papa diop was outstanding to the level of MOTM....

Personally I had Danny Potts down for MOTM - outstanding début - up there with Greaves Hat-trick against Man City.

BBC...hang your heads in shame

Biggest crowd of the Championship yet...and less than a minute AND not having the blatant pen on it.

You've let a lot of people down.

Extended highlights of the MK Dons i suppose Headbanger

The BBC are scum. They show the top 4 of the Premier League on extended highlights EVERY week due to the fact they are the top 4. What are their excuses for not showing extended highlights of West Ham who are seperated from 1st place by goal difference.

Probably that they have to show footage from thirty odd games compared to MOTDs six or seven.

I think they showed less off our game than any other...

How comes MOTD always shows the top team of the day first ??

During MOTD they went on about our great crowd today as if they were going to give us a decent billing.

How long will Charlton get ??

This is a club that virtually has to pick their fans up from their house to make them go.

Bearing in mind I didn't see or even hear the match [called into work early], from what I've read Nolan, Cole, Faubert and Sears did a job today - could it be that those who regularly dig these lot out finally got to see the commitment and tenacity these add to the side now we're down to the bare bones? Sears needs to be given more game time in a Baldock-esque role for sure.

Sears did not 'do a job'. He was full of running as usual but no more. I think Sam was very reluctant to use him, Carew seemed to get injured quite early in the game and wasn't contributing anything to our play. Sears must have been warming up for about an hour before he finally got the call to come on. As Adzman/Clunge has said on Twitter, Sears is up for sale and has been told he is up for sale, i think his time has finally come to leave and our time to stop hoping he will one day come good.

However Nolan, Cole and Faubert did well, Cole in particular but Cole and Faubert haven't been dug out much this season and the majority of us have acknowledged their commitment. I think Linda done extremely well at centre back, amazingly seemed to win everything in the air. Papa impressed me at Upton Park for the first time this season and Potts was excellent. Piq was wasteful and Carew never got into the game. I think the team spirit was good today and it got us through the game in which Barnsley offered very little but we seriously need some reinforcements next month.

Diop and Potts fantastic. Diop destroyed their midfield, won everything in the air and halted so much of their attacking play, hes a bugger to tackle too. Potts, not only was his defending fantastic but his left foot is gorgeous.

Greeno assured. We were only good when Noble was involved in the play. None of the strikers seemed to be able to play well at the same time, but Cole was the best. Clear penalty first half.

And an extra note on how well Lansbury did in the completely unfamiliar position of right back. I was scared for him but he dealt with it all, including aerially, and its probably worked out a very useful cameo for his fitness.

I also hope the little lad who was crying next to me after we scored only missed the goal and i didnt knock him over in my celebration.

RIP to the fan who died, my condolences to his family and friends :crest:

Second that  Also thought he covered all of the defenders brilliantly! Looked a bit awkward when he was on the ball at times but he showed great skill as well. Great performance from the veteran.

Not the convincing performance we wanted but was good to see our makeshift squad take home 3 points and get some first-hand experience in for Potts. A nice, justified price to take the family up to as well.. although the highlight for my kids was the cat running for its life around the pitch.. put Hammerhead to shame! Anyone else come across that nutty old cow at Upton Park tube queue making a scene about us joining in line through the gate?

Keith Hill is far from a footballing & managerial genius, but I think there's quite a few on here who'd agree with his not-so-subtle dig at BFS.

I found that a painful watch.

Delighted for Potts and mentions for George, Papa and the hard workling if frustrating Cole.

Piq is stealing a living on that performance/work rate.

I was trying to work out why Sam played 4-3-3 if that's what it was. Piq wasn't helping out his full back so not sure we cxan say he was playing midfield.

Did Sam select the big 3 because of set pieces at EITHER end? I notice all 3 came back for their corners.

If we play that way, then obviously Faubert is restricted in how much he can push on as he lacks cover.

Could have played 1 up top, stacked the midfield and dominated the ball but maybe the height factor at Barnsely corners would have been an issue. Sam's clearly not a fan of sears but would like to see him play more centrally against some of these lumbering centre backs we come across.

Noble had noone to find with his passes 'in behind'.

Shame for the huge crowd it wasn't more entertaining but it's these 1-0s that we appointed Sam for and it's these results with a makeshift side that will get us promoted..
