West Ham Utd 1-1 Queens Park Rangers (19/01/13)
West Ham could be without key defenders James Collins, George McCartney and Joey O’Brien (the latter hoping to be fit).
However the rest of the team is starting to come together as they could have Andy Carroll and Marouane Chamakh available for selection up top along with Carlton Cole.
Mark Noble and Joe Cole were rested in the week but should return to the squad to give Sam Allardyce his toughest midfield selection to date.
QPR will be looking to get record signing Loic Remy involved straight away. Remy was once a West ham target so is definitely worth a punt to score anytime! Rob Green is likely to be sitting on the bench watching.
Last League Line-up…
West Ham home form – DWLLW
QPR away form – LDDLW
Table
West Ham are 11th and a win will see them go above Stoke and into the top half if Stoke lose at Swansea.
QPR are bottom but can go above Reading with a win providing reading lose at Newcastle.
Tickets
Category B game with general prices starting from £39 but the game is SOLD OUT so you will have to pay over the odds on Viagogo or find a fellow forum member with spares.
Weather
Around kick off is expected to be light snow and poor visibility with temperature close to zero if not below so utilise the scarf sellers and get some colours in the stands!
And finally...
Redknapp has lost just twice in his last seventeen games against his former clubs as a Premier League manager.
Last corresponding fixture was won 1-0 by West Ham with a goal from Tony Cottee.

Anyone who knows if Joe Cole is out injured for this one? Key player on sat. IMO.

Re: West Ham United v Queens Park Rangers - Match Thread
Will be interesting to see how we shape up after the relative success of last night's wing back formation, it would certainly give us a chance to play two strikers so would depend on how 'ready' Chamakh is.
I think Sam will go to the tried and tested 451 though in all honesty.

Cole ------ Nolan ------ Vaz Te (maybe Jarvis)

I love Carlton but he was so so poor last night.

Two youngsters from last night deserve there place for Saturday, you cant play well and get dropped. Potts has improved game by game and is looking a good player. It is whether they can handle the pressure at home where we need 3 points.

All I know is I really want to win and I reckon Chamakhmybitchup will get a start.
Re: West Ham United v Queens Park Rangers - Match Thread
I agree with this, except start Cole up front, and plan on Chamakh at the 70 minute mark no matter what.HammerMan2004 wrote: ..........................Jussi........................

If Cole has another poor 1st half (like against Man Wed), get him out earlier and he loses his starts for the foreseeable future as well.
If for some reason we can't find the net by halftime, and also for upcoming Arsenal/Fulham...same setup but pull out Demel and slap Chamakh or Carroll (3-5-2) also up front. Stir the pot some. We have nothing to lose with our Away form at this point, might end up trying it at home vs QPR.

O'Brien's not fit is he and I'd be loathe to have Vaz Te out there after how he has been performing

Re: West Ham United v Queens Park Rangers - Match Thread
I'm desperate to stick some of those chances away we create, also Nolan hasn't done enough recently to deserve a starting place (or a place on the bench for the time being), so here it goes:
--------------Jussi
Spence-Tomkins-Reid-Potts
----------Diame-Noble
Jarvis----Collison----J. Cole
----Chamakh----Carroll
Subs: Spiegel, Demel, O'Brien, O'Neil, Diarra, Vaz Te, C.Cole
Adventurous formation, but in my view a decent mixture, loads of players for QPR to worry about and power, speed and creativity in midfield. Also we should stick with our two young pacy FB's for now.

QPR have kept out Chelsea, Tottenham and West Brom their last 3 games, 2 of them being away from home. I fear for us on Saturday
Re: West Ham United v Queens Park Rangers - Match Thread
In full training according to DG. Probably too soon last night. Might see him and Potts play part of the game. I think Vaz Te just needs game time after the injury and he was a bit livelier last night. I'd save Jarvis and Winston for later in the game if poss.Billy Hunt wrote: That I would love

Really, I thought Vaz Te was dreadful (again) last night personally. Much rather have Jarvis starting with Vaz Te benched
Good news on O'Brien
