Cardiff here we come..... wrote:Irrons,

So whatever we do for the rest of the season(good or bad results), you still believe SA should be sacked in the summer?

Anything that would change your mind or re-consider keeping Allardyce for next season? :eh:

(sorry if you have answered it already, I haven't read every post)
I thought his contract was up at the end of this season but actually it runs until the end of 2014-15 with the extension that he signed last May. I wouldn't necessarily want to see him sacked at the end of this season, I just don't think he's the right manager going forward for the long term at this club. He was brought in specifically to do a job when we got relegated (get us up and keep us up) and he's done that job pretty well. Time will tell but as I said, it should be for discussion at the end of the season.

I've said since day one that we should keep Sam and that he is the one to keep us up while most others were calling for his head. Looks like a few are starting to a agree with that now 8-)

Why were the Villa fans booing Downing so relentlessly? Did he agitate for a move to Liverpool?

They should be stoked they got £20m for him

For all those Hammers who think West Ham fans are negative.

"Downing and Collins are double winners today. Won the game and got away from this festering sh*tfest of a club."

From the OV. This from a club who are still 2 points ahead of us in the league.

Looked lively enough with the ball at his feet. Definitely not a target man in the Carroll/Cole mould though. His attempts at winning headers varied from the half-arsed to the farcical.

Borriello's first competitive game since November so I think you can forgive him being off the pace (and maybe a few extra pounds...)

He'll get fitter and I certainly saw enough to see that he'll be more useful than Maiga in terms of holding up the ball and bringing the midfield into the game.

I know a Villa fan. He said they are the worst team in the league and it's a miracle they are where they are.

It just goes to show that every club has fans who think they are the shittest.

It was a tough game to impress in. He comes on, and Nolan scores 2 in 2 minutes. Then for over 40 minutes he has to play as a totally isolated front man, with no support, because the team was pushed back for ages.

He still looked thinner than Grant Holt but then so did Allardyce.... Why did Lambert buy that bloke? :eh:

He is only on loan for the rest of the season. Lambert needed another striker and got wonders out of Holt at Norwich.

Bit like us signing Johnson. Cheap players with premier league experience are hard to find.

I thought he looked quite a clever player but he certainly isn't as mobile or self-sufficient as Carroll or Cole when working as a lone target man. His touch looked good and he didn't waste the ball when he had it. I thought it was positive, certainly worth a place in the squad.

One thing over-looked by many is that if Taylor had squared the ball right at the very end instead of shooting, Boriello would have been wide-open for a pretty easy chance about ten yards out. Shame, although after all the work Matty got through I think he probably deserved a shot at goal.
