West Ham Utd 0-2 Manchester Utd (22/03/14)
Saturday 22nd March 2013, KO: 17:30
We need another three points here, and I fancy us to get them for some strange reason.
Downing to get his first goal.

Is Vidic out, or will the appeal come through?
Apart from that, have had a good feeling about this one for months. Glad DL was the one starting the thread.

Think we're going to get a caning. And that will lead to a really nervous end of season.
We will just about stay up- I think.

Re: West Ham United v Manchester United: Match Thread
I'd expect our team to show some changes from yesterday. Reid, Nocerino, Downing and Adrian probably need to be most concerned.
God knows what will turn up for them.
CL elimination against Olympiacos could see Moyes sacked IMO, while they have Man City at home three days after playing us and there's no doubt that will be of greater significance to them than playing us.
Do they really want to qualify for the Europa League next year or would they be better off just concentrating on domestics, which has worked very well for Liverpool this season?

Re: West Ham United v Manchester United: Match Thread
I certainly wouldn't say strange reason. More like they are a bang average side, low on confidence who can be got at quite easily. If we defend like we have done in recent weeks (apart from Stoke) then the 3pts should be easy.Dyer's Leg wrote:Saturday 22nd March 2013, KO: 17:30

all looks set for us to beat them but i fully expect them to beat us with ease by 2 or 3.
remember that game when they had carrick and some other midfielder at centre back? :/

Re: West Ham United v Manchester United: Match Thread
They ain't gonna like playing against Carroll even more so if Vidic is out! I hope we really go at them but I would go back to the side that done so well for us for so long!
Collins in with Tomkins or Reid
Taylor back in the middle

Their morale should be pretty low and Carrol should be up for this.
1-3.

Re: West Ham United v Manchester United: Match Thread
Think Andy will terrorize Jones, Rio or Smalling, but it'll just be our luck that they remember they are the Champions and they'll play like it. We could be looking at winning four on the trot followed by three losses in a row, making the Hull game very nervy.
Re: West Ham United v Manchester United: Match Thread
Will we get a backlash after today's events against Liverpool? Will they get a backlash after yesterday's events against Stoke? Will both backlashes cancel each other out resulting in a 0-0 bore draw? Either way there is gona be some form of backlash activity at the Boleyn on Saturday.

Can't see anything but another loss and 3 straight defeats here, we may scrape a draw but highly unlikely.

Going to be another backs to the wall situation.
Collins is seriously important.
His areal domination cannot be equaled and the distances he gets in his clearances is essential to allow us to regroup. Doesn't find a man to keep possession ? Who does?

Re: West Ham United v Manchester United: Match Thread
We're in the middle of a dense set of fixtures for them:
SUN 16 MAR Liverpool (H)
WED 19 MAR Olympiakos (H)
SAT 22 MAR 2014 West Ham (A)
TUE 25 MAR Man City (H)
I reckon they're gonna see us as a chance to rest some players.
We should really go for it...

Dont think he will drop Reid.. our best defender on his day and wont want to annoy him with contract talks around cornerbubbles1966 wrote:I'd expect our team to show some changes from yesterday. Reid, Nocerino, Downing and Adrian probably need to be most concerned.

Adrian he has faith in.. he wont be dropped. He is number 1 now. Downing is good defensively so will be needed.. only one that could be dropped is nocerino
