Yep. Can't see us having much joy here. They need it more than us.
3-1 to them.
3-1 to them.
Re: Sunderland v West Ham United: Match Thread
Was talking to Sunderland mate the other day .... we came to conclusion this is a 0-0 bore draw.
They cant score .... we probably wont attempt to score !
Ps I'm kinda glad DL started the thread .... always gives me a glimmer .....

Another 0-0 would be perfect.
I want Armero to start instead of McCartney. If we are going to buy him in the summer, let's see what he's capable of.

To keep the game interesting and fun for us fans right up to the final whistle - a fiver to the first person who gets our possession stat right.
I'm going for 23% (head says 19% though)

I'm going to be ultra positive and say 37%.
I think we'll struggle as Sunderland tend to attack with pace when they play at home from what I've seen of them, it's clear that we'll be heavily reliant on set pieces. I'd be happy with a draw, if Sunderland win then they'll only be 6 points behind with a game in hand. I hope we can show a bit more attacking enterprise than usual, as the win v Hull takes some of the pressure away.

Re: Sunderland v West Ham United: Match Thread
Sunderland will attempt to play pretty football and commit their players forward as they attempt in vain to break us down. After 20 minutes of practically uninterrupted possession they'll finally have a shot. Adrian will catch it and an aimless drop kick up field will be won by Carroll, ****ed on to the Vaz, who will stylishly finish past Vito Mannone giving us a 1-0 despite 32% possession.
Cue a chorus of 'he scores when he wants' followed by 'he's going to Brazil'

Would be nice to see Noccerino & Armero get a start, but I imagine Sam will go with the same, maybe Reid starting, if fit.
Reading CH's roundup, I see we are linked with Cattermole! Please No, blokes a fruitcake

Re: Sunderland v West Ham United: Match Thread
We will go there just to strangle the living daylights out of them, not show any ambition ourselves and at worst, come with a 0-0 So, I cannot see many goals in what I feel will be yet another shocking game. If there is to be a winner, I think just the one goal will settle it.
Re: Sunderland v West Ham United: Match Thread
Can't see us getting more than a draw, but I'll take a point from this one gladly.

My memory is rubbish, but it seems like it's a long time since we beat Sunderland in the league. Must be at least 3 or 4 years ago?

0-0 is my prediction, with Sam respecting the point, and more importantly preventing a relegation candidate from gaining on us. If Sunderland do nick one, I can't see us scoring.

Re: Sunderland v West Ham United: Match Thread
On paper it should be 0-0 but Sunderland need the points so I think they will attack us and open the game up a bit. 2-1 us.
Re: Sunderland v West Ham United: Match Thread
Would be happy with a point but I can see a loss by one goal.

I see that Sky have replaced televising the match with 'Wet Paint Watching' on as being more exciting for viewers.

Every team we send out is trying for a 0-0....thats the problem.Norwegian Hammer wrote:wouldnt be surprised to see another point respected,or at least the team trying to respect one point..
