Looks like the product of a ' Lawro ' / ' Magnum , P.I. ' intimate dalliance .

Kouyate's athleticism looks out of this world. Very excited to see what he produces

James Collins days a a first choice CB are well and truly over. I wouldnt be against selling him and bringing in a younger replacement. Overall though id like to back Reid/Tomkins in for the time being as a first choice pairing and hope to see as little of James Collins as possible.

The only player i thought didn't perform to expected level was Downing until the last 20 mins or so.
And maybe the 'Ginger Breen'

Shocking for the two goals

His movement off the ball was class also. He looks a steal at 7 mil. Can't wait to see him carving up the opposition (until he gets injured of course :D ).

Thank you very much UTJ for posting the link to todays highlights mate,i wanted to go today but my herniated disc has taken its toll big time,i can't see myself at next weeks game either which will be the first opening day fixture i've missed in 18 years.

35 years of humping around scaffolding poles has finally taken its toll on me,oh to be young again.

Great to see us scoring freely. Somewhat concerned that Collins has lost a yard since last season. 3 shredded weetabix will hopefully sort that out :)

Good second goal, looks like he might have been practising how to aim rather than just blast excitedly.

^^ Was just going to mention Diame's goal, very decent imo.

Must say, I concur with other posters about Kouyate. Great athlete, strength & pace. I think Allardyce will start him and then possibly bring Diame on later as an impact sub in games. Let's face it, this is when Diame's at his best as he never looks like lasting the full 90 mins.

Pleased for Reece Burke too.

I think he's going if I'm honest but if he doesn't I'd love to see him play with Kouyate, a midfield three of diame, noble and Kouyate could be one of the best outside of the big boys! I've been a big critic of Diame but tbh he pretty much said himself that last season wasn't his best and a lot of it was to do with the lack of competition for places, well that's changed this year and with possibly the guy from marseille to come in ( hopefully not as Diame's replacement) as well, I think we will see a completely different player to the one we saw last year, I've kept out of the whole Nolan debate over the last couple of years basically as he was the only one scoring our goals but I genuinely don't think he should be an automatic starter anymore, we are too slow with him and noble in the same team!

Agree Durham, I thought he'd be off.

Not sure if there's been any approach from any clubs though.

Think the whole world bar Diame himself knew Liverpool wasn't going to come knocking. :D

I can't really say I noticed him too much, that's not a criticism though I just wasn't looking out for him. I guess that means he did most things right and didn't showy doing anything wrong.

I think Harry will be in for him, whether he would go there is another question, I really hope he stays and Allardyce plays him, him and Kouyate give us the pace and dynamism through the middle that we have so badly lacked the last couple of seasons, a guy on another forum asked him after the game if he was staying and he replied that you will have to ask the chairmen ?? I think he's off, really hope I'm wrong !!
