I was stone cold sober. I think we're suffering from a different interpretation of "upfront", you seem to think of that as being a central striker, I mean playing in a forward position rather than being in midfield. I still think he was meant to be playing upfront, playing wider with Carroll in the middle, and he was largely trying to do that.DrVenk wrote:
He was not playing as a striker first half. You'd have to be half cut by half time to think he was playing up front.
2 of our players yesterday described within this thread as "toilet" and I've seen the same said about Kouyate recentlyTurns to Stone wrote:There's a lot of talk about respect to other posters on this thread and others. What frustrates me enormously is how many posters on here don't show respect to some of our players and in particular our manager. You can talk about tactics, you can talk about performance levelas an everything else...but some of us call the manager fat, they call him a coward, they call him a dinosaur, they even call him a c*nt.
Sometimes, I find it very difficult to respond to those people with respect.
Maybe I'm weird though.
I was just frustrated having witnessed another brilliant victory for the Hammers to come in here and see some just purely focusing on first half tactics - its been a constant theme for some to just simply highlight the negatives in every match - as you mentioned it would be boring if we was on the same page, but then again why just be negative for the sake of debate - maybe i should just stay in the positive threadBillydinho wrote:I really don't know what was said originally for this to have descended into this mess of a thread.
It's been going on for ages sadly...people have lost respect for the poor people who bring them this site.Billydinho wrote:This thread got a little out of hand.

Disagree - they showed it on the Sky goals show and he was offside, just - inasmuch as Nolan was offside at the Mancs by half his chest being ahead, the same was true for ValenciaHampshire Hammer wrote:It was closer than I thought it was at the time but 100% onside, speed of movement caught the linesman out I assume.
I am very honest about my reasons for a cull...because of posts how you just have there. You are talking down to me.DaveWHU1964 wrote:I think I must be one of your three. Count me in there too.. Haven't bothered to read the arguments, it seems like the usual gnashing of teeth.Neil wrote:Another weird one!

You show me where there is ANY respect ??Sloop John B wrote:

Whilst we should all be respectful and thankful to UTJ and his crew for the work they put into this site it would be remiss to ignore the thing that makes this site a cut above many other West Ham sites... and that is the legions of West Ham & football fans that populate these message boards and generate so much content and opinion that keeps dragging us back to these pages.
One without the other ...and it wouldn't be much of a site!! (IMO)
So why go to war with anyone who found fault ?Markt85 wrote:

That was the funny thing...how many times does he ever admit to being wrong ?e17 wrote:Reading that Allardyce Q&A from after Hull - He's refreshingly honest about how we played in that first half - & weirdly understanding of the half time boo brigade!
