Wonder if we can get Archway Sheet Metal Work to knock up a wall for our goal otherwise 3-0 to Spuds I reckon

Jääskeläinen (Adrian)
Demel (Jenkinson)
Rat (Cresswell)
Tomkins (Collins)
Diamé (Song)
Vaz Te (Sakho )
Morrison (Valencia)
The above players (based on the probable starting 11) are the changes to the team that beat Tottenham 3-0.
I count 5/6 improvements on that previous team. Nolan has deteriorated since then, Downing has improved.
Yes there may be arguments about their team, some of our players form etc, but let's not quite give up the ghost just yet!
On the back of Saturday, you have to think the players are going into this game with a hell of a lot of pride to reestablish.
It'll be won on the day, not based on any form.

Yeh we have the quality RARS, but I think it's more about how Sam will set us up and, most important, confidence. Can Sam lift the players, can they lift themselves? In a way this is the perfect fixture after such a capitulation last week. But I can't see us beating the cocks; the brain says 2 or 3 goal margin to them...though the heart as ever hopes for another wonderful day where it feels like us hammers have won a cup.

Re: Tottenham Hotspur v West Ham United: Match Thread
Why would he want a 0-0?
A 0-0 is pointless. A point does nothing for us either way. While I'll be happy if we battle to a draw, I will be disappointed if set up to get it.
This is a good chance to take advantage of the scum in their own backyard again...

I have no idea why, I don't understand why Sam thinks like this.il_martello_di_genovesi wrote:Why would he want a 0-0?

We've had a torrid time of late, but I think it will all change on Sunday. Can see us turning Tottenham over, and Sam getting a stay of execution.

A bit like we set up for the last time we were there, with no striker?saludo de carlitos wrote:Sam wants a 0-0 guaranteed.
We ended up playing a tactical masterstroke.
Let's just what happens with the game as the game unfolds and after the event, instead of chucking so much doubt at it.

Re: Tottenham Hotspur v West Ham United: Match Thread
I have to admit Saludo, it does worry me that we will set up to defend...but there is no need for it.
The good thing is Sam has targeted teams who have had midweek games before, as ones to have a go at...

I know he's safety first but you've pulled that out of your arse, haven't you?saludo de carlitos wrote:Sam wants a 0-0 guaranteed.

I'd like to see Poyet, Lee or Jarvis start. Just something different, and that isn't a dig at Sam. We have so many players who like out of form, maybe a little change might help.Burnley Hammer wrote:if Poyet is fit....

This is the game where we need Song to pull his thumb out of his arse, been a shadow of his early season self lately, but is the type of player that could just orchestrate a win for us

Think you'll find the word pointless doesn't literally mean 0 points. It can mean 'no point' instead of 'no points'.
But thanks for post stalking me...very flattering .

I can't see anything other than a loss on Sunday I'm afraid, but with our favourable run in I'm hoping for between 15-20 points to hopefully consolidate our 8th position. Haven't quite got the resources yet to finish on top of any of the teams above us imo. Would love to be proved wrong though!

With Kayoute being out injured and these Allardyce being sacked rumours I change my prediction from 1-1 to another 4-0 roasting. Luckily we have got enough points on the board early doors so we just need a few more to stay up. But there won't be any points on Sunday. Maybe Palace at home? Or whoever is after Arsenal and Chelsea...

I don't think Kouyate is actually going to be out injured, is he?Stepney wrote:With Kayoute being out injured and these Allardyce being sacked rumours I change my prediction from 1-1 to another 4-0 roasting. He'll be back in the middle I hope which will be a massive improvement for us all-round. We can get a result there, no question

Kouyate is good to play, he confirmed it on twitter.Stepney wrote:With Kayoute being out injured and these Allardyce being sacked rumours I change my prediction from 1-1 to another 4-0 roasting.
