It's an awkward pre-season for us as we probably have to accommodate fitness on the off chance that we get knocked out of Europe. But then we have too many games if we don't! I guess there will be a lot of reserves getting their chance this summer - at least Slav will get to see everyone in action!

Just read the article on the official site. Mouth watering? Hardly. Also £20 in advance, £25 on the day? Nah, think I will stick to the £10 europa league matches

Seems very strange to have arranged this when we have competitive pre-season matches.
I won't be bothering.

Looks like a good fixture to me to test a proper first team against a decent quality side before Arsenal.

It probably wasn't arranged over night though and will be more competitive than the Europa games.

£20?

No thanks. With the euro games i can see the crowd being rather small at that price.

Might be interesting depending on whether their fans turn up .

There was an no show from them in Grenchen a few years back .I think they may have been put off by the Spitfire on the roof of the Breitling HQ .Maybe it brought back unhappy memories of a heavy defeat .

hey are not the first 'Giants' that spring to mind when I think of German Football. Some suggestive wording from the OS.

Saying that, should be a nice little Sunday in the Sun.

My little boy is 3 years old and is a little bit too young to take along to a proper competitive game.
This will be the perfect opportunity for me to take him along to the Boleyn at least once in his life so I am over the moon with this fixture! :scarfer:

I suppose whilst in one sense of the word, the Europa League games will be 'competitive', in another they probably really won't be.

It makes sense to have at least one run out against decent standard opponents prior to the Premier League kick off.

Might be played in front of a sparse crowd though.

I like these extra home games. Gives those who might not otherwise have the opportunity to get to the BG before the end a chance to say goodbye to the old girl.
