I would probably keep the team the same as much as possible but rest Sakho and play him against Peterborough a few days later. Maybe the same with Tomkins too.

Play children (sorry, blood youngsters) and take firsts as subs just in case. Biggest non event this season ever. Sounds harsh but it twoo. COYI

I think these games will be good for us, like pre-season but a competitive edge, we will be fit come first game of the season that's for sure.

I'd prefer to keep Sakho as sub, just as insurance, and play a front 3 - 1 with Zarate, Morgan A, and Jarvis behind Lee. I'm sorry to say that I don't think Lee is going to cut it longer term, but he should have enough at this level, and it would be nice to see Jarvis asked to cut inside and the team in general having to play it to feet (without an aerial option).
Can't really predict a result because we could put any kind of team out there.

I'd give hendrie a run at left back, or Page again as he looked impressive. I probably wouldn't play Oxford in midfield but play him in defence with an experienced partner. I'd play Cullen from the start as he looks more of a box to box midfielder that's capable of making things happen. I'd also play Zarate again with Lee as he needs to get himself fit more than others. Sakho would inevitably replace one of them at half time.Vienna wrote:Can't wait for this, beers in the sun and West Ham in the Evening COYI

Re: FC Lusitans V West Ham United (Second Leg) - Match Thread
Some of their tackles in the first leg were a bit naughty so I'd expect them to be even more physical on their own manor where they won't want to be shown up in front of their own fans.
We don't want to risk any injuries so I'd play a street wise team of players experienced enough to go there and hit them on the break and come back unscathed.
Strikers need goals for their confidence so I'd leave Sakho behind and start with Lee and maybe Maiga instead of Zarate.

As long as Cullen starts in the middle I'm happy.
Re: FC Lusitans V West Ham United (Second Leg) - Match Thread
I wouldn't risk any important players for this match. The ground is astro turf, meaning its easier to get an injury. I would play...
---------- Randolph--------------
Obrien Burke Henry Page
--------Oxford Poyet -----------
Jarvis Zarate Amalfitano
--------------- Lee--------------------
With Sakho, Tomkins and Nolan on the bench just incase.

Usual pre season history suggests that we'll see a completely different XI for this match. We still have an awful lot of players who require game time.
Does anyone know which players we registered for this round that have not yet played?

Pretty sure we'll only have the same players we had available for the first leg. Bar a massive dodgy lasagne for supper nobody from Cork will be joining them.
If we put out a different side as somebody suggests it would include goalie Spiegel, full-backs Westley and Knoyle, defensive midfielder Nasha, centre midfielder Cullen, winger Parfittt-Williams and striker Lee with a smattering of whoever needs the fitness more from the rest of them.

Did we not register 25 players?
Did that 25 man squad include the youngsters, or are they in addition to the 25 like they are in the league?

We did, although can only find this confirmed list: http://www.uefa.com/uefaeuropaleague/se ... index.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;LeonRivers wrote:Did we not register 25 players?

But I'm fairly certain I've seen it mentioned in the various OS videos and interviews with staff that the first group of players in Cork will take care of the first qualifying round and everyone will merge after that.

Is Oscar Borg not in contention for these early Europa games? I thought he was supposed to be our 'star' youth player, along with Oxford.
