let's hope we don't rely on sakho too much as others need to step forward for selection up front in the league

Can anyone that went give any info on set up, formation, tactics etc...?

What position did Samuelsen play? How were the front three used and positioned?

What was Pike like at rightback, good enough to deputise Jenks presuming he signs?

How did Obaing okay?

Thanks in advance

Samuelsen very promising as was pike.
The centre back next to Henry in second half showed some nice touches and a midfielder looked good, think he was number 18 but not sure who he was!

That other young CB was Josh Pask, so tall and strong for his age with a Rio-esque touch and confidence. Stood out in the Hong Kong sevens tournament and I'd imagine will challenge for a regular U21 spot this season.

Nicely taken goal from Samuelson. I have a hunch that he's going to make it for us.

Nice run out from the looks of it.

Nobes took his goal well but Samuelsen's was better. The sheer work rate that Sakho puts in justifies his arse goal alone

For their first goal the bloke leapt like a salmon towering over Cresswell for the clear header on target. Samuelsen gave away the penalty. Obiang looked to be pretty advanced but hard to tell given how gung-ho it seemed to be either way. Who was that hitting the side-netting with a gaping open goal to win the game, Gordon? Bury it son!

Formation was a fluid 4-3-3 when attacking, 4-5-1 when defending

A lot of passing around the back with the full backs pressing high & stating wide, our CB's played wider when they pushed up (which comes to my first issue, counter attacks will expose the gap in the middle easily, they scored because of this too)

Sakho up front wth Samuelson on the left wing, Maiga on the right. Samuelson linked up very well with Cresswell.

Pike was okay, got caught out position a few times. Not first team quality, yet.

Obiang played well and offered himself as various options whilst we were attacking. Quite like him.

Samuelson was MOTM for me. Very lively and composed.

Cheers Kitt

Sounds promising, from the highlights clip above seemed we got numbers in and around the box when attacking

Seems like a good start, and it takes some time to learn playing with the back line so high up. As it looks Reid missed to step up at the second home goal...

Pleased that Samuelson got on the scoresheet and sounds like he played well, I hope we tighten up at the back soon though!!!!
