Done and dusted, 2-3. Hopefully we tighten up soon, it's typical of pre-season but just for Europe's sake... we're keeping clean sheets so far but teams like Peterborough and Southend are a step up and we're conceding.

Payet though :scarfer:

Considering how shocking we were in pre season last year, I'm pretty pleased with how it's going so far.

I'm gonna be crapping myself if Adrian get's injured, Randolph just doesn't look up to it

All in all a good day and Justin Beiber looks quality!

Scored two and created a third. We have a potential new star on our hands.

Back from an entertaining afternoon in the Southend sun.

I thought Payet & Kouyate looked class, & Poyet was impressive too - wise beyond his years
Surprised that Bilic made Sakho play 90 mins when he's basically our only fit goal scoring striker.

Ogbonna looked OK & Poyet had an impressive match -
looks like the real deal. Samuelson looks a good signing too.
Didn't see anything wrong with Maiga's attitude either

Randolph did look a bit shaky but I'm not going to panic yet because he has a decent track record.
Anyone can make mistakes

Managed to speak with him (and Stephen Hendrie) after the game. Will have some of that for you later.

Sakho cannot play in Europe so was probably given 90 minutes for that reason.

It's the first time I've seen Poyet in the flesh.
On TV you don't appreciate his positioning & organizational ability & the way
he covers for & organizes other players.
I thought he was especially impressive in that respect when all the kids came on.
A very modern sort of midfield player

I'm looking forward to that. Just from watching him today, I'd bet Poyet is an intelligent, sensible & nice bloke.

I hope Bilic keeps him in the squad & uses him more and more as the season goes on. Not sure Sam really understood his worth as a player, but hats off whoever made the effort to sign him up.

Hendrie looked solid defensively, but seemed to lack ambition going forward this afternoon. That's probably because he's feeling his way as a new player. Based on watching him today, I'd be confident he could certainly deputize for an injured Cresswell

Looks like we are working towards having a very decent squad

Poyet impressed me on the pre season tour of new Zealand last year. Lots of potential.

Would love to see him kouyate and Obiang play together with poyet pulling the strings

Did you ask Poyet why he foolishly decided to shear his flowing, Bishop-like locks?
