I quite liked Page at LB too. He obviously looks pretty raw still, but properly gets stuck in.

You can say that again. No matter how he plays he'll be shut down by some. You only had to watch tonight's game/ read this match thread to see that

Right, I'm going to force myself to wipe the slate clean and give Zarate an unbiased viewing over the coming weeks.

Positives: Lot of minutes recently, so he is clearly fitter, which probably means he's been working hard.

Negatives: The c*** needs to pass the f***ing ball more.

Wow loved the last half hour, the football was slick and good something I haven't seen us do for a while. Zarate looks so much better with decent players around him also and you can see he's getting fitter last touch of game was him Breaking up play in he's own half and running with the ball. Payet looks the real deal if we can get someone like Hernandez running on to them little through balls we will be laughing

Thoroughly enjoyed that, particularly the last 20 when Norwich simply looked bamboozled by the pace and variety of movement and passing.

Every-bodies game seems lifted with Payet conducting the orchestra and I'd rather a Zarate than a Jarvis - much more in tune overall with the even if he plays the odd bum note. As others have said - add a finisher and maybe we've some sweet music for a change.

Looking forward to Thursday - we do need to find our scoring boots though. :scarfer:

He got himself into the box and passed quite a few times, especially in the first half. Near the end of the match he did beat his man THREE times with a dummy, only to spunk it by doing an Arsenal. Honestly, if he can get his (reported) ego out of the way and accept that everyone has a part to play in this team, he'll do well this season.

Also worth noting was the guy next to me who brought his younger brother/nephew along who didn't like football, but by the end was chanting away with the rest of is. I think we made a new fan tonight :scarfer:

Glad I'm not the only one who got a bit excited with the last half an hour.. :D

Happy with that though, there was a clear emphasis on those subs playing at a high tempo and they did just that, they completely bossed the rest of the game and played some really good football in doing so.

Lots of positives to come out of that tonight.

Henry was possibly the biggest for me, I really liked him and Page.

Of course it was all about that last half an hour though and I've got to admit, I can't remember us playing some of that lovely pass and move football in far too long.

Shows how we've been starved of it how we are all creaming over that half an hour.

Tell you what though, we are going to have to take a lead of two goals or more to Romania as that first half team isn't gonna win us many games of football, but it could get us draws and narrow defeats.

Loved the way we looked after the changes. Should have scored a couple really. Norwich are gonna struggle with that forward line though. Good night out, makes a change to get home in less than 3 hours.

Looking forward to Thursday now :scarfer:

Agree with the comments about Noble, looks a better player when released from the holding role. Realistically we only seem to have Oxford who could play it with Songs departure...Dont think it will happen yet as much as he looks ready
Obiang will hold, and hold well..

I thought we looked really good for the last half an hour but that said the back four were decent all game, whoever played there, although Henry was brilliant, we could have one he'll of a player there, was it him that did that crazy flick in the second half? Payet, Noble and Lee really helped change the game, Lee looked lively and you just think that a few goals might set him off. The only negatives that we weren't clinical enough, but it was only a friendly I suppose, and Jarvis and Nolan, I'm sorry but they're not good enough.

We was a different team the minute Kevin Nolan went off.when he plays no disrespect to him but our football is completely different and he seems to drag other players performances down around him.man city last year our midfield was class minute he plays everything gets ruined.hence game last Thursday and to tonight performances when the changes was made different team a team we are on edge of our seat to watch.
Thanks Kevin for what you have done but your times come to an end
All the best

Maybe it was the drink, or others around me too, but I could have sworn it was Lee  I thought that player, Lee/Zarate, looked very good, Oxford also looks like he could become one very special player, so composed, definitely shades of Rio about his game
