I've been away, only just got back (try not to do computers and gadgets while I'm away) and I owe a big, big, apology to those few super optimists who forecaste a win at Anfield. A fantastic performance. I really did not think it was going to happen. And with the Rent Boys losing at home as well, I have been a well and truly happy Hammer this weekend. Well done you rip roaring goal scoring Hammers !

Would we top that performance by including Song in the team?

Would you persist with Tomkins in the RB position, or do we need a specialist back up for Jenkinson?

Finally, what was the atmosphere in the last 15 minutes, in the away end? I've been in that stand 4 times and, by that point in each match, its been clear that we're trying simply to keep down the score against us. You had the sheer delight of Sakho finishing the game off with an extra time strike, but, before that, were you stood there thinking that you were dreaming?
Prophet, Nobes and Pedro both sat as a pair when we were without the ball, but Nobes went further forward when we had it .He's the playmaker from deep .

With regards Song I've posted on here often enough I wouldn't pick him , despite him being a good player , I just think we're a better team without him .

Tomkins will never be a right back, that's not to say he didn't play well on Saturday because he did , but he offers little going forward : He's an ok stand in for away games but might test the patience of 35k at the Boleyn .We need cover for Jenks .

The atmosphere was great towards the end , but it's fair to say until we got our third few were totally confident we had it in the bag , and that's despite them only having had one shot on target and one that hit the post .At Anfield it's never in the bag until the final whistle blows .

Quite a few old timers seemed to have a bit of dust in their eyes at the end , it's fair to say we went loopy after Sakho's goal .

Overall though it was a brilliant, brilliant team performance from us .

I have to apologise to everyone who bumped into me after the game...it was really too much for me.

I wasn't be rude or anything.

Just SO emotional....

The only sad thing was the fact we didn't fill out the allocation...I understand why people swerved it and i never saw it BUT that is the real West Ham way.

:crest:

PS..big heads up to Mark Ward celebrating in the away end with us

TPP, nice words, mate.

Same goes for George (above) too.

And, you too Chas. I was hoping to see your boat in the stand in the pictures...would have made an early hat-trick for the season!

I'd have been in tears too! On only my 5th visit!

This completely. After Noble got sent off I couldn't stand the tension so locked myself in the toilet downstairs for a few minutes. I was telling everyone around me at 2-0 that I wouldn't believe we could win unless we were 3 up with about 3 minutes left. Then **** me we actually do it! I'm happy now, just once up there is good enough for me.

As soon as i heard we'd sent tickets back i went straight for that area....I like to spread out.

Sadly they allocated the away STHs some poxy seats right to the left of the allocation so all the main faces aren't on the pics going about.

Nice to see Bonzo from Norwich on a couple of the mind...along with a few other rogues :D

Cutting down on my media performances now...even our Spotters are asking for my bloody autograph !

Oh the few. The happy few. Delighted for all who went, especially those that have been doing this fixture year in year out. Imagine the moment Sakho's goal went in was a very special moment. Finally, the monkey is off our back.

Were there many empty seats towards the back then as the only ones I saw were the first couple of rows ?

From where we were, it looked like the back couple of rows were empty - aren't these sold as restricted view?

Brilliant day all round, got to say the Scousers were very welcoming to - and met a few Evertonians after the game who were beside themselves with joy! :scarfer:

Driving up to this one as it is the last 'big ground' my lad has yet to visit.

I have witnessed a fair few draws there but not old enough for the last victory. However, we will win there again one day and probably when we are least expecting it - like now....
3pts on Murkyside and I kind of called it - or some may say blind optimism. Whatever, one of the very best away days and the monkey got nowhere near my lad's back.

Cracking slow 'sign on, sign on' pre match...

With tickets nearly 50 quid a pop and trains almost 90 quid it isn't surprising a few swerved it...

Bet there a bit gutted now though........

Anyone remember that time when we beat them 3-0 at Anfield and we barely broke a sweat in doing so?
