West Ham Utd 2-0 Newcastle Utd (14/09/15)
Monday 14th September 20:00
Bolyen Ground
Live on Skysports
I thought change of Match Thread starter change of luck at home?
Carroll rumoured to be back
So should the appeal fail for Noble (which I am pretty sure it wont be should it be unsuccessful) I would like us to use a different formation at home
---------------------Randolf
-------Tomkins----Reid (c)--Ogbonna
Jenkinson--------Obiang---------Cresswell
---------------Lanzini------Kouyate
----------------------Payet
---------------------Sakho
Bench is likely to see Carroll, Collins, Zarate, Obrien, Spiegel, Jarvis, New signing or oxford
Will be watching this game with great interest. Clean sheet for Randolf yesterday, with man of the match (for us that is) against Bournemouth begs the question if he plays well against newcastle does Adrain deserve to walk straight back into the team?
prediction 2-1 west ham Payet and Sakho

10-1 to Newcastle with their centre half getting a hat trick
Genuinely after yesterday I've no idea what to expect anymore. I never predicted a John Lyall West Ham game right either - we'd destroy teams miles above us & then lose to teams already down
Hope Nobes' card is rescinded & he gets his debut as official captain at the Boleyn for this one

If Noble is in fact banned I'd agree we should try out 5 at the back, if not I'd be inclined to play the same team as vs Liverpool.
Anyone know if Zarate will be back for this one? Be good to have him as an option off the bench.

Same team as Lverpool. If nobles appeal fails, which I think is unlikely, then bring Moses in , or whoever we have brought to play wide
Keep the back four the same at all costs.
Playing five at the back with two full backs (not wing backs) is not the answer

Yep, keep the same team as Liverpool, even if Tomkins might make that right wing less effective going forward. We need, above all, to have a good defensive performance. Hell, I'd even take a boring 0-0 draw at home, just to steady the ship. Bring on Carroll for the last 20 minutes, he's bound to score.
Having said all that, we should, by then, have a couple of new attacking players, hopefully wingers, so a more attacking way of playing might actually work without us letting in loads of goals.

Have a sneaky feeling Noble's red won't be rescinded now.

They have problems...in the bottom 3, Mitrovic suspended, haven't scored since the opening day, no shots on target in their last 4 hours of PL football, almost as manay red cards as us

f*** knows, could be anything, pointless to speculate.

We surely can't win two in a row? they look average, my money's on a draw.
Not sure my nerves can handle another win.

At the very least, thankfully there's no Mitrovic to stamp on anyone and add to our injury list... who even knows about the score, take each game as it comes and enjoy it.

We need to get a home win under our belts. I fancy us to win this.
If Nobes' card is not withdrawn it will be a freekin joke.
2-1 Payet, Sakho

Well that's us doomed then. We need to play better teams!Korea Hammer wrote:They have problems...in the bottom 3, Mitrovic suspended, haven't scored since the opening day, no shots on target in their last 4 hours of PL football, almost as manay red cards as us

Re: West Ham Utd v Newcastle Utd: Match Thread
Wow, had no idea they had been so impotent. But listening to their game v Arsenal it seemed that the referee was ridiculously biased in favour of the Goon scum. I think that the Geordies just need some time to settle and will improve. Well they can't get any worse right? Maybe we should play on the counter even when at home? Pace seems to be our most lethal asset in the team right now.Korea Hammer wrote:They have problems...in the bottom 3, Mitrovic suspended, haven't scored since the opening day, no shots on target in their last 4 hours of PL football, almost as manay red cards as us

Although if we sign a quality winger in the next couple of days then I might change that to 4-2-3-1
