Can't make this one for family reasons. Hoping for a convincing win to keep the momentum going in the league.
4-1 IRONS
Hoping big AC gets off the mark if he comes on at some point.

I just hope we are sufficiently recovered after the exertions in Manchester and Leicester. I can't pretend I'm not fearing the worst.
I've a Danish mate (seedling WHU fan) I'm bringing to the game. His flight lands at Heathrow at 1pm provided it's not delayed. Wish us luck making the kick-off, eh.

For a 3 o'clock kick off? You may need wings... Possibly use Heathrow express to Paddington, then maybe walk to Lancaster gate for the central line to mile end. And pray there aren't any rugby crowds...claret parrot wrote:I just hope we are sufficiently recovered after the exertions in Manchester and Leicester. I can't pretend I'm not fearing the worst.

Returning to topic....
Really hoping that Norwich don't make wholesale changes for carling cup, as they are playing prem league opponents away....
I am sure they will have been studying our home games and will look to defend deep, and hit on the break. They'll be difficult to break down as Lpool found.
Id start the team that played against City. Look to bring on Carroll late on if we are struggling to make a break through.
I'll go for a nervy 2-1 win.

Without meaning to sound cocky or complacent I honestly think we will win this game quite convincingly. 4-1, 5-1 or something like that. That's no dis-respect to Norwich. I just think that it will all click on Saturday. Despite losing last night, I thought we looked pretty good. Passed it around very well and looked well organised. I know some people might think this game could be a typical West Ham banana skin but I just can't see it. I reckon we will destroy Norwich on Saturday with a couple of unlikely players getting their first goals of the season.

Norwich will be well drilled but i expect us to win this match. They had an encouraging result at Anfield but Liverpool really should have taken their chances and put that game to bed.

Waiting for tonight's team before predicting. Suspect their reserves plus Jarvis will be the majority.
Worryingly 5 of our 6 league games have ended in an away win. Time to redress the balance....

Norwich are inconsistent and unpredictable, I just hope we can play well against them.
I fear we might trip up, but that probably 35 years of following WH talking.
Should win 2-1.

Jarvis had a chance to make it 2-1 to Norwich as well though don't forget, they're no pushovers.

Norwich have been surprisingly decent.
On paper their squad looked like cannon fodder, but it's only in their game against Southampton that they've struggled so far.
I'm going to say a see-sawing 2-2.

Norwich been playing some pretty decent football and had some good results. what with us playing 120mins of football midweek and losing. I think we'll draw 2-2, its best we shook off the loses this season.

they'll be without jarvis, who has been key for them the last couple of games.

Feel like a bit of a Jonah, been to Leicester and Bournemouth with my boys but we gave Newcastle a miss as it was a school night.
Sorry to say we're going on Saturday - my boys say they will refuse to go again if we lose. I'm fearing the worst but as has already been said, that's what comes of following the Hammers for 40 years or so.

Norwich are no mugs, playing well recently and like us will be feeling some confidence after a couple of good results. 1-1 at anfield ain't to be sniffed at, tho granted Liverpool are a bottom half team.
Can see a hard game, could go either way this one.

I can see a win here like many others...

I really think it depends on how knackered we are after two hard fought, intense games.

Re: West Ham United V Norwich City: Match thread
Their last 3 results have seen them beat Bournemouth, draw at Anfield and comfortably see of West Brom in the cup. In 90 mins.
They're no mugs that is for sure. This is going to be a lot harder than our last 2 against Man City & Leicester in the cup. (By that I mean the onus to attack is on us). They'll be more than happy with a point. We've got to score first IMO as that's when we are at our best.
Carroll & Sakho up front. Both will score. 3-1 win.
