-------------------- Adrian ---------------------
Jenkinson Reid Tomkins Cresswell
-- Lanzini Kouyate Noble Moses ----
-------------------- Payet ---------------------
------------------- Sakho ----------------------
Carroll, Antonio and Obiang to get a run out (Collins if there is an injury at the back)
The most comfortable and easy win of the season for us. Could even be a silly score such as 4, 5 or 6!
Their manager will get sacked off the back of this game!
(NB, this prediction will all change if they sack him before the game)

Now now Sutts....we don't do 3:0 wins (liverpool doesn't count ) let alone 4:0 or 5:0!!
The consistent thing this season is that we do the opposite to what is generally expected to happen

Anti-hubris device kicks in....you know this is where Sunderland start to turn their season around.
Naaah this is where we start to establish ourselves as CL contenders!
Really, I think another away win.

Re: Sunderland V West Ham: Match thread
Sunderland, as per tradition, have a good team on paper that isn't living up to its potential.
I watched the whole of their game against Tottenham a week or so back and generally they looked good, and probably should have won if Defoe hadn't hit the post early on.
All their best play seems to go through M'Vila and Lens. If Kouyate and co can keep them quiet then we should have a good chance. Defoe's definitely going to score so we'll need to get two.

Re: Sunderland V West Ham: Match thread
Soton put 8 past these last season at home.
Given that we're better on the road than at home, that we look better this season than Soton did last year, and that Sunderland are easily worse than they were last season, I'm expecting a 9-0 win at least.

Myself and my 2 lads are travelling up on the Sunderland supporters bus from Aycliffe before heading to the safety of the away end!!
If we score early I can see a convincing win but I have been following the Hammers for long enough to know that when we start expecting to win.........

4-1 Sakho with a brace, Payet and Tomkins, Defoe to grab one.

6-0 Sunderland.. Noble and Lanzini sent off for destroying Cattermole.
Re: Sunderland V West Ham: Match thread
I'm going for (and will be happy with) a 1-0 win with a goal from Moses.

Agreed - Defoe to get a brace - it's the West Ham way, unfortunatelyRomford wrote:I'm thinking great big banana skin myself....2-1 the Mackems
Re: Sunderland V West Ham: Match thread
Their squad is awful, not surprised to see them down there at all. Their defence, in particular is an absolute circus. M'Vila, Defoe and perhaps Lens are going to have to try and drag them to safety this year, because that is the only quality they have got IMO.

Sunderland to win. Defoe to score
Not sure why but I don't feel at all confident about this one
