West Ham Utd 2-1 Chelsea (24/10/15)
Not as long a wait this time around.
Moses illegible under the rules of a loan signing so have to decide who he should be replaced with..
Do we put in Carroll and switch sakho to a slightly wider to cover Moses .. His work rate is enough..
Could play a front 3 of lanzini, Carroll sakho with payet pulling the strings behind
Could like for like with Antonio ... Or bring in zarate who hasn't let us down this season and only lost his place when he got injured.
Personally I'd go for Carroll to really pile pressure on the Chelsea defence
Predicting a 2-1 win with Carroll and payet scoring

It would be great to beat Chavski partly for the three points and also for the bonus of listening to a teddy throwing session from the Special One. It is a big ask but if anyone can do it Super Slav can.

Moses out Obiang in. Let's not get too carried away with Chelsea's poor season, there are still threats to neutralise all over the pitch. Get the Christmas tree formation going, get them frustrated.

2-1 from me as well. Think you will see many stodgy performances from Chelsea and Mourinho over the coming few months as they attempt to win matches by 1-0 in an effort to climb up the table

Pushing noble forward into the creative position? With payet and lanzini out wide?fjthegrey wrote:Moses out Obiang in. Let's not get too carried away with Chelsea's poor season, there are still threats to neutralise all over the pitch. Get the Christmas tree formation going, get them frustrated.
Obiang and kouyate holding I'm guessing

Treat this like an away game and we'll have a chance, but only a small chance. Chelsea will come at us and we're lethal on the counter attack. Shame we can't bring Diame of the bench.
1-2 Chelsea
1-2 Chelsea

The dream? Three points and Mourhino goes the following morning.
Even after the recent joys, I think we may struggle.
But it is nice to go into the game several points ahead
Altogether now.....
Special one? You're havin' a laugh!

Nah, Payet and Lanzini get free roam licence with a solid Base of three defensive minded players behind them. Kouyate the only central mid with mandate to support as he has the legs to do so and still provide defensive cover.mumbles87 wrote: Pushing noble forward into the creative position? I'd go like for like. Antonio for Moses.
Lets not give this mob any respect. They are seriously low on confidence and have under performing players all over the park. Play like we did in the first half against palace and we can win comfortably.
Give them too much time and space and they'll play their way back into form.

Chelsea at home is one of a select number of home games where we should play three central midfield players, so i would bring in Obiang for Moses
Keep the rest of the team the same, sakho will be vital as his pace wil be need to stretch the slow Chelsea defence
Despite their iffy start Chelsea are a very good team and will be rising the table rapidly from now on, and i think we will get beaten. As long as we give them a good game and go for it, I will be satisfied regardless
We need Reid back to deal with Costa, so i hope he is fit

I'd like to see Antonio given a chance, natural winger with real pace, up against Ivanovic who has been having a stinking season so far. I reckon he'd run him ragged.

For this one I'd have three in the middle, bringing Obiang to act as extra shield. They may be playing poorly but still hold players like Pedro and Hazard who can win a game within a second. I'd then bring Antonio in to stay out wide and give natural width and Payet doing his usual free roam magic. Valencia and Song will be back on the bench for this one to give us extra options if that doesn't work

I expect to see us approach this in pretty much the same way that we went about beating Arsenal and Liverpool...

No idea how this game will turn out; I only know Jose wont be able to complain about 19th century football... unless he plays it himself!

As far as I know there wasn't anything wrong with Antonio, just didn't make the bench. With Moses illegible against Chelsea he should be back
Ex WHU Employee also agrees that Victor Moses poor handwriting will rule him out for this one.

Re: West Ham Utd vs Chelsea: match thread
Stopping Willian having an influence from midfield will be key as he has been their best player so far this season. Not just for his set pieces but his range of passing. Fabregas can be pushed out of games if you don't allow him space. Nolan did an absolute job on him last season.
