Cheers Mumbles, it was a genuine question.
The point I was making is we looked like an Allardyce team yesterday.
It was like going back in time. And not good to watch.

its cliche but when carroll is in the team they look for the easy ball in the air too often.. needs to be drummed out of them , carroll is outstanding with his feet (except in his own box ofc) someone needs to remind the players around himgiantsteps wrote:Cheers Mumbles, it was a genuine question.

To be fair, he was the catalyst to our downfall. Two school-level touches in the box have nothing to do with being out for 9 months, he should have stuck the welly through it - both times.bspur1 wrote: Today was his first stat in the PL for 9 months and he is now the catalyst to our downfall.
Collins and Carroll heroes last week , this week there arent PL quality and we need to get rid off.

As lifeless and ineffective as we were, I was still convinced we'd get to half time at 0-0 with them not really causing too many problems up to that point.Aceface wrote:To be fair, he was the catalyst to our downfall. They'd had a couple of efforts from a corner, Moses had a breakaway cross-shot for us, but that was about it. It had been an awful game.
The kind you stay 0-0 in to HT, then nick 1-0 in the second half.
Two howlers inside ten minutes.

Bad error that it was by Carroll it’s not the first that’s been made by a WHU player this season as we all know and I doubt it will be the last.

Very disappointing. Goes to show that Carroll shouldn't be starting for us, a reasonable option off the bench, not a lot more. Should be used as a bully boy nearing the end of the match.
Sakho has to start when fit, if not Sakho, then Valencia. Please just not Carroll.

I think this is very true. I seem to remember last season there was a quote, maybe from ginge that this looking for the easy ball out in the air to carroll was very much down to the players and not the gaffer.mumbles87 wrote: its cliche but when carroll is in the team they look for the easy ball in the air too often.. needs to be drummed out of them , carroll is outstanding with his feet (except in his own box ofc) someone needs to remind the players around him

Payet did put one on a sixpence for Carroll yesterday though which he volleyed wide.

A real bad day at the office yesterday, right from the kick off, how we missed Diafra Sakho just shows what his movement makes to the team, we seemed all over the place, Carroll is not good enough to be starting, and the goal farce is unforgivable. Bringing on Jelavic was pointless, what does he offer, no wonder we are looking for strikers, why did we buy him, was it desperation? You have to credit the Watford fans they get behind their team.
It was like as others say going back to the boring Allardyce days, just hope it was just a glitch and that against Everton we can get back to what we do best.

Re: Watford v West Ham United: Match Thread
All about Sakho's absence I think.
Not the ideal all round striker, for me, but his qualities in harassing defenders and keeping the central defenders deep gives us so much more room in midfield, reducing the number of their attacks and consequently the probability of mistakes.
Valencia didnt impress when he came on, but the one incident where his pressing nearly resulted in a goal reminded us of what Sakho brings for 90 minutes.
Not something that can be easily solved....

I normally enjoy the away games even if we're not playing well...yesterday was awful, all around me people slagging off everyone and calling Noble a khuntNorthBankAlliance wrote:Was more worried about the state of our support.
