Wasn't surprising considering his current position....bubbles1966 wrote:

Agree with this, they were all pretty badRomford wrote:Lucky to get 0 yesterday...
Wrong tactics and wrong team to play Watford
Only one to come off the park with any sort of pride was Jenks
Bad day at the office.
Never going to get anything out of a game with that many passengers
Although Watford were good

I've only just seen Collins' red on the MOTD highlights, seemed quite harsh to me? A definite booking, but never a red... I also hope Watford get a fine for failing to control their players...

Re: Watford v West Ham United: Match Thread
Losing to teams like Watford -
I wouldn't have it any other way. I prefer to take the big scalps at a cost of losing the occasional team that's either more our level or below.
I wouldn't swap wins against Arsenal, Liverpool, Man City, Chelsea for the world.
It is more a historic thing with us too, we do tend to raise our game for the big ones but not quite at it against the lesser teams.
Good luck to Leicester, Bournemouth and Watford, I could think of a hell of a lot worse teams to lose too.

Re: Watford v West Ham United: Match Thread
A bad day at the office and clearly we're struggling to motivate ourselves against the 'smaller' teams and show them the right amount of respect, but I've never been so relaxed and confident about a west ham manager being able to put the problem right. Carroll was woeful but it is the first time he's started since Feb so no big surprise there, Enner would have buried that one if he was match-fit and so on. I'm really disappointed in Ginge, he was clearly frustrated with the performance but I don't like seeing that and it's a deserved red IMO.
RE: Watford, they played well and have a really good squad. Capoue is a really tidy player and they know how to dominate teams, I thought they did the same to Arsenal until the goal and they were quite unlucky there. They'll do well this year and there's no shame in losing there, just disappointing the way we did it.

How the "Staff writer" can argue the sending off yesterday was absurd is a bit embarrassing IMHO

I personally thought a red was a bit harsh.
Yellow would have sufficed.

Re: Watford v West Ham United: Match Thread
I was expecting a bad challenge after some of the comments, even seeing Jenas saying that Collins meant to injury Ighalo (which is a disgraceful accusation).
But having seen it just now, I'm not sure where the red card has come from. Yellow definitely, but red, not for me. I wouldn't be expecting an opposition player to be sent off for that challenge.

Re: Watford v West Ham United: Match Thread
It was an appalling challenge, I winced immediately when he lashed out the way he did. He was never, ever getting to the ball. The frustration of Ighalo having the run around on him all game clearly came to the boil. The poor sod had to be taken off because of it.
Love Collins, but that was an awful well deserved straight red.

I think this season with how Refs are clamping down...it's a defo red.
Do bookies still do odds on sending offs

Thought we seemed a bit torn between keeping our shape with 2 banks of 4 (5 ) as we did at Arse , Man City etc and setting up to be a bit more offensive and got a bit stuck between the 2
Kouyate was like rabbit in headlights - all over the place
I think with Reid back , Song adding a bit of quality and Sakho back in for Carroll ( great as an impact player but not a starter , changes our whole dynamic ) we will kick on again

Lacks the basic positional discipline to do the job he was asked to do yesterday .Neil Orr fan club wrote: Kouyate was like rabbit in headlights - all over the place
