My word, they looked dead and buried already tonight on MOTD.
A mate who follows them rated Guzan as their MOTM...after they lost 0-4!

Re: West Ham v Aston Villa match thread
It's Randolph's shirt to lose, plus Adrian will be very tired with a crying baby all night for the next few days keeping him up.POP POP POP Robson wrote:

Re: West Ham v Aston Villa match thread
We can agree to disagree but if Adrian's getting any sleepless nights he won't be at his best and Randolph is the reason we're still in the cup.stu1 wrote: It's really not.
Re: West Ham Utd v Aston Villa: match thread
If Adrian is fine to play he starts, done enough throughout the season to be first choice and a good performance from Randolph doesn't change that.

Re: West Ham Utd v Aston Villa: match thread
Surely Adrian won't make this one. He needs to fly back from Spain and probably won't have more than 1 training session in that short time, I 100% expect him to miss the game. But he'll return for the one after. I expect Tomkins to miss this one aswell. As it is a little too soon. Again I am sure he'll be back after this game. Big chance for Byram to make the right back spot his own. I'm not sure I'd risk Kouyate either. It depends how bad the injury is. But we did miss him big time when he went off yesterday. I thought we were weaker without him. Perhaps stick him on the bench and bring him on if we need him. This game will be after deadline day too, so will Emenike be in the squad and will Jelavic will be sold. That's something we'll need to bare in mind.
I would only got with 2 in midfield for this one as we're at home. They will probably try to sit back and frustrate us. For god sake don't play Payet out wide. He's only ineffective performances have been when he's not played in the middle. Take the hint Bilic!
I'd go with:
-----------------------------------------Randolph---------------------------------------
---Byram---------------Collins----------------------Reid-------------Cresswell---
--------------------------Obiang----------------------Noble---------------------------
------------------------------------------Payet------------------------------------------
---Moses----------------------------Valencia----------------------------Antonio---
Subs: Speigel/Howes, O'Brien, Ogbonna, Song, Kouyate/Oxford, Jelavic, Emenike/Parfitt-Williams.

Really hope to god we go at them instead of our usual shocking performance against these types of teams. payet and antonio more infield when we have the ball with cresswell and byram pushing on. When defending payet and antonio can drop in to the wide midefield role for a more solid bank of four. Really need to look for 3 wins in feb to keep up the push.

Re: West Ham Utd v Aston Villa: match thread
Yesterday apart they have become a lot more difficult to beat since Wenger's boy took over but they've lacked that vital element - luck. They should have beaten us at their place so it won't be a push over.

Gestede is struggling with a hamstring injury. He was pretty much all they had at their place.

O'Brien----Collins---Reid----Cresswell
----------------Song----Noble------------
Byram------------Payet------------Antonio
---------------------Carroll-------------------
Although this may change depending on who we confirm transfer wise today. I'll take a risk on Byram at right midfield as I feel Moses is failing where it matters - getting good crosses into the box! Antonio equally guilty of this but hopefully will offer decent defensive cover for Cresswell whilst he does the job.
