Some of the Spurs fans( and their manager) are bordering on the delusional.

Wow. Spurs fans on the internet really are a horrible bunch. Such venom and hatred, I really dont get it.

At the very least all of my Spurs mates had the contrition and good sense to sheepishly concede that we were the better side and that they were well beaten.

They need to get over their small man syndrome, constantly obsessing about Arsenal. Even their new ground, has to be 61,000 capacity just so it is bigger that the Emirates.

I do love beating the filth.

Jermaine Jenas - always thought he was overrated.

Pleased to see that Lasagnegate still hurts him.

Crouchend_Hammer wrote:As Bubbles mentions on the Noble thread i wouldn't say we played great football last night. A long of long passes (not hoofs, i will add) down the channels for Eminike to run onto. .
That though was my point .

I was referring to our passing game, and for me a pass to a player running the channels is a legitimate pass, it's not a hoof .Tottenham, allegedly were a team that "pressed" , and the way to stretch them is to pass it in behind them i.e go long .It's not hoofing, it's intelligent football by good footballers .Exploiting the space .

Too many associate a "passing game" with thoughts of 400 square passes 2 yards long, sideways as if you get extra marks for it .That to me isn't a passing game at all, it's simply retaining possession, frankly, in a lot of cases, for the sake of it .Some teams who have no idea what to do with the ball will do that all night long and claim they dominated possession . So what ? They think they are copying Barcelona without understanding it's the sudden change of pace by Barca that makes the difference not the 600 passes played before it to send the opposition to sleep .

Time and again last night Noble could look up and see someone to pass to and he had the ability to execute the pass .Kouyate, when played as one of the big lumps can't see it and can't execute it .That was what I meant by playing the footballers .

Moley summed it up the other week, get our best players on the ball .Lanzini, Payet, Noble , and we'll win pretty often .

Just watching the highlights again and that free kick by Payet from the right hand touch line has to be one of the best crosses I've seen from that position. Incredible bend. Still unsure why Antonio didn't head it.

Probably because he was starting to feel a little sorry for Spurs if he kept banging them in.

How the game didn't end up 3-0, 4-0 I don't know, because it felt like it had the potential to get embarrassing for them, score wise. Sadly it never really materialised, can't have it our way all the time. Maybe Spurs should try and remember that at times.

Having just looked at the article I think many of those are pretty fair really?.... By and large they talk about us outworking them, being first to the ball and Bilic getting the tactics spot on to stop them playing. There is also some bitching about the ref, pitch, etc, but that is no different to some of our quotes when they trounced us at their place earlier this season. From what I have experienced since the game most Spurs fans have admitted that it was a fair result, the guys that post on here have said it and all of them in my office (and there are a lot of them!) have also said it.

Quite simply, one of my best nights as a West Ham fan. Lucky enough to get a ticket from a non attending mate

Knew it would go well when got in the supps club about 5pm and got let in ( also managed to get in vs Newcastle and Leicester but had also been told it was members only at other occasions).

Sat right behind the goal, BML. Crowd was fantastic, every man in the team played his part, stood up and was counted. Spuds in contract looked a little bit shell shocked and over awed, think the first goal and the expectations didn't help them. Nor did the pressure of knowing the other teams were all fupping it up too.

Only minor irritation (at the time) was being right at the front of the tube queue before getting held back for the spuds fans to get marched onto the train. Suppose in hindsight it was smart policing, but at that point your cold thinking of work the next day (and the meeting with the spud boss)

A fantastic evening of football all round. :scarfer:

Brilliant game, brilliant night out.

Getting stuck in traffic after the game, being escorted to the highway by David Gold himself :D
Getting home around 5 am in the morning when heavy rain & snow were making things difficult on the road....all worth it. Still buzzing from Wednesday like all of us I suppose.

Boy, we have some team. Only a pitty they don't show up sometimes against the less glamourous sides, because otherwise we would be farthing down on Tottenham's faces in that PL table.

I just loved the way we played. Especially the high pressing when LLoris had to take a GK. They didn't expect that! Unbelievable how many bad kicks he had! There was so much energy in the team, so much desire & drive. There was no way those **** would coming away with anything on their last visit to our beloved ground.

Some individuals I want to single out (although that's VERY hard after such a team performance):

- Emenike: most people (including me) had some doubts about him. But he played a blinder Wednesday. Putting pressure, running at everything,...and he actually won a lot of aerial & sprinting battles. Most of the times when he started as second best in the challenge. He was immense IMHO. Only issue I have with him, is that he clearly seems struggle with being onside. He was in the perfect position when Antonio took his shot after the Noble blocked effort BUT he was clearly offside. there Antonio took his own chance. Emenike put his arms up why he didn't get the ball.....he was miles offside but he didn't even know. We already saw that at Blackburn in some situations too. Something to work on, because he generally is in the right position, but offside. He is the same sort of forward that Sakho is, so he would be a perfect understudy. But I'm not sure we should splash the reported 7M£ out because of his age.

- Noble: he gets a lot of praise, but not enough for my liking. We should be singing his name the wole 90 mins. This lad has upped his performances by a country mile. I don't know what has happened with him, but he seems to be the glue between all our players. Not only as a captain, but also on the pitch. He does things simple, but he does it perfect. Add to that his many years at our club and you've got a legend. He cares so much about our club, as much as us. (or even more)

- Kouyate: Slotting in at a position he's rarely played. Ok, at Anderlecht a few times, but the opposition is something different! He was immense.

- Obiang: he is massively underrated with many. I watched the whole game again on the internet. You just have to look at how many attacks he breaks up. Unbelievable. Not only with interceptions, but also his positioning. He made up for the one and only mistake he made on Wednesday with his sloppy long ball across the pitch. He ran across himself like a lunatic, taking his position again like he already knew where the danger was comling from, and intercepting 5 seconds later. He is mustard. Luckily for us, press haven't picked up on it. He may be our best signing taking his age & fee into consideration. (until Lanzini turns permanent)

Proud to be West Ham, sad to only have 2 games remaining on the Boleyn Ground.

Agreed - definitely far better this season partly I believe because he has quality around him that allows more time and more options to pick the passes.

As he once said, years ago when still a very young man, 'my job is to get the ball and give it to the good players'. Wonderfully understated.
