Phew, what a scorcher. Only just woken up after a bit too much of the falling down water. Read through this thread to relive it all...

Prophet: Your post shows what eloquence and style can bring to a football forum, and not just any football forum, KUMB's Forum. Compare your prose to the tat posted on the Spuds laughable excuse for a forum(s) and it is obvious who has the class in the capital. Top post...many thanks.

That's easily the best OV I've every seen. I've never laughed out loud so many times. The bit where one bloke decided that they could just have Bilic from us if they wanted was gold. Moaning about the pitch and ref and cup final blah blah blah. I love it.

After seeing them go out with a whimper last night and the way they have moaned about the pitch, long balls, windy conditions, and us being physical? I am writing off their chances of winning the league.

It has been mentioned by some that they are only in their lofty position due to enormous luck with injuries and quite a few wrong referring decisions going their way.

After last night I tend to agree and I expect them to fall away after this as they are not champion material by a long stretch.

I could have got 11/1 last night that the Spuds lose their next two games.

I thought it was great odds but I didn't want to jinx us. :)

Spurs only concession to playing short balls was the weird goal kick thing where 4 players surround the penalty box when the kick is taken.

Other than that, they play long ball when it suits, same as every team.

I wonder what their game plan was when Peter Crouch played for them?

Can we please fix up the pitch. If we don't, then for the rest of the season the first excuse we'll hear after every game at home will be "The pitch cost us the game". This will obviously lead to West Ham Hoofball comments.

It would be interesting to see how many long balls they played last night as I remember a fair number getting aimlessly whacked up field by them.

I just loved the fact he chose to take the piss right in front of their muggy faces. Not only does he score important goals, he also has the best celebrations up his sleeve too. I hope it's something he continues to do with the confidence to know it won't be too long till the next celebration, not really seen since the days of Wrighty. Humour and celebration go hand in hand at West Ham, keep it up my man!

I have never, and will never, understand any comments regarding our apparent lack of intelligence. I was unaware that, as well as taking our SATS in year 6, we also had to take a supporters IQ test, those earning a higher score being rewarded with the chance to have the honour of supporting Tottenham Hotspur. I didn't choose West Ham because I'm 'stupid'. I chose them because they're my local team. East London isn't any more or less intelligent than North London I'd guess.

Likewise, calling us 'p*keys' etc. It's a ridiculous term that shouldn't be used to describe anyone. Judging by stereotypes though, they seem to associate this with owning a caravan. Where I live, in East London, nobody has ROOM for a caravan, let alone want to own one! It's all very odd.

Frankly, I have no problem with them as a club. I couldn't give two hoots about them. However their fans seems utterly fixated with putting us down. All a tad embarrassing, really.

UTJ with a page from the LVG handbook!

I echo the sentiments that among the true nuggets of that OV were Hoofamania and the future drop of the hat transfer of Slaven. And the classic 'cup final' line.

Walking parody, that lot.

"If anyone has paid attention this season they'd know that our weakness is when teams turn games into scraps and get physical, it upsets our rhythm and as a result we don't get any rhythm going"

Yesterday they were giving it 'we can stand toe to toe with anyone' wtf that was supposed to mean I don't know, now they can't scrap, must be too much lasagne.

From the West Ham poster over on the Fighting Cocks:-

"it’s because you can’t enforce your elitist self entitled behavior"

Perfectly sums up why I dislike them too.

I really dislike how teams try to deny that they are rivals with certain clubs. All fans seem to do it at times. It's very annoying. Yesterday it was Spurs fans acting like they really didn't care about being beaten by us because Arsenal is their real rivals. Complete BS

There can be more than one rivalry amongst Clubs from any particular region.

Chelsea, Arsenal, Spurs, I dislike them all with almost equal hatred for differing reasons. Same applies with Villa, Birmingham, West Brom, Wolves, they are all fierce Midland rivals. Everyone wants to be top dog and hold the bragging rights after any given recent fixture.

Sure Arsenal means more to them, as does Arsenal regarding Spurs, but please don't let anyone fool you into thinking that fixture last night was a bitter, angry, aggressive rivalry between two London Clubs at the top of their game respectively. Only children or know nothings who think otherwise. Those on the Sours forums just so happen to fall into both categories.

Edit - Oops, that was a genuine Typo although funnily enough, very apt at the minute.
