Chelsea 2-2 West Ham Utd (19/03/16)

Post by Up the Junction »

Arsenal (a) 2-0
Man City (a) 2-1
Liverpool (a) 3-0, 0-0
Man Utd (a) 0-0, 1-1
Everton (a) 3-2

It's been a season for taking major scalps on the road. One more would be lovely.

We go 12 points clear of Chelsea with a win....

And if we lose? Well, we've struggled against the smaller teams in the league this year

Chelski are without Costa for this game - picked up a one-game ban for his sending off at the weekend.

That will help, but they could still be dangerous - now that they're out of the cup and Europe, they're able to focus on finishing top half in the league

Spoil sport alert:

Yes, Costa is banned for this match.

Also - DISTRICT LINE: Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 March, no service between Tower Hill and West Ham while we carry out track and drainage replacement work at Aldgate East as well as Crossrail work at Whitechapel. Replacement buses operate.

This is a bit of a funny one, very hard to predict. Their season is almost over. They only really have a Europa League place to play for and is that something they neccessarily want for next season?

Costa is out and Remy has been awful so it seems Traore will start up front. Hopefully Reid will be OK to play, if so we have a very strong team in:

Adrian
Byram Reid Ogbonna Cresswell
Noble Kouyate
Antonio Payet Lanzini
Sakho/Carroll

It's got to be our best chance to pick up three points at Stamford Bridge for a long time, still very difficult but definitely achievable.

This is a massive test for us, if we win there then I will really start to believe that a Champions League place is possible.

No Costa is huge. He's been central to their revival.

Win and top 4 is on.

If Kennedy plays get them diagonals going towards Antonio, he will bully him in the air, although I expect them to lineup Ivanvoic Cahill Terry Azpilecuate

Is Byram done with his two match suspension? I think it's still Antonio at right back for the time being...

Somehow this one would be the sweetest of the lot i think, especially as it could be John Terrys ( Captain, Leader, Bell-end ) last game against us

I keep going into games expecting us to win.

It feels weird.

Costa being out is a result for us as he's been in great form. They may well be fully deflated now they can't win anything and probably wont even get into Europe via the league. They're there for the taking.
