So we don't have to ask for favours from UEFA, I think it'd be possible to move the Arsenal game and have either that game or the Cup replay on Friday 8th April and the other game on Monday 11th April. It would mean two night games within a few days and one less Saturday game at the Boleyn, should also ensure it could be televised as well.James P wrote:My Arsenal mate seems to think the replay could be the weekend of the 9th/10th with the league game moved.

Strangely a Palace supporting customer of mine has just suggested to me should Man U progress in the Europa that both our fixtures (we have Palace they have Everton) of the weekend 2nd/3rd will be moved to the Monday night with the replay on the preceding Friday night, personally I can't see it being anything other than the 20th April which ticket wise will be a headache for whoever progresses to the semi-final.James P wrote:My Arsenal mate seems to think the replay could be the weekend of the 9th/10th with the league game moved.
Obviously in the more likely scenario that they go out of the Europa it is seems the 6th and 13th April are the likely dates but following Hull and Arsenal precedent an earlier than usual kick-off should be expected.

What's the likelihood of Man U getting past Liverpool from 0-2?

When was the last time they won by more than a single goal?
Can't have happened too many times since Fergie left.
Edit - was intrigued so checked. 4 times against PL opposition this season. We've done it 6 times. How the mighty have fallen.

So will it make a difference if MU win or lose in the Europa to the date of the replay?
Any chance it will be before April 3rd (Rooneys return date)

If Manchester United is out of Europe, they will risk Rooney.
If they are still in the Europa, they will not field him.
2-0 to ManUtd after 90 min, and winning on penalties?

prior to facing us, they had won 4 games on the spin at home, scoring 12 in total...dont write them off yet
if they bag an early goal on thursday it will be rocking and they have every chance

Liverpool are a form team at the moment.
If Man U do overturn them it would be a boost to their confidence, as well as an indicator that they've sorted themselves out.
Probably best to hope for a kick-fest that goes to extra time.

Yes, this is a poor Manchester Utd side, which is not to be confused with a poor team. Early goal to Man Utd and it will get the crowd going the players blood up and Liverpool poopers will go.if they bag an early goal on thursday it will be rocking and they have every chance
I think we will win the replay, but it is far from a done deal.
In '86 we went out at this stage to a Sheffield Wed team who in turn were beaten by a very very good Everton team in the semi's.
Wed went on to finish 5th in the league.

2-0 win to ManU v Liverpool and ManU then have a goal in extra time wrongly ruled out for offside, before losing two players to injury and conceding a 120th minute own goal to lose the tie.

Unless the replay is on a Tuesday (which doesn't seem likely), I wont be able to make this as I work nights Weds to Friday. They all know I'm a West Ham fan so feigning sickness would be highly suspect. Once again I will have to save myself for the semi final.

Remind me of the conclusion of this...What are the downsides of having a defender on one of the posts?beckton wrote:

For me not that high.bubbles1966 wrote:What's the likelihood of Man U getting past Liverpool from 0-2?
They seemed disorganised defensively, so, if they press for early goals, will leave themselves too open for the tie-ending away goal concession.
