Of course we missed Payet any team would, no one delivers a ball like him in our team, he has the ability to turn any game, that's why he is a starter in every game he is available.

Same thing happened at Spurs with Carrol marking the near post not the man.
In fairness it was a well worked set piece and a great header but Valencia was unaware.

Here we go - it's like chinese whispers. Nobody has said we wouldn't miss Payet. Nobody has said we didn't miss Payet. What I DID say, was that we could cope without him. And we did.

No one knows what would have happened if we'd gone two up. The history books will say we conceded two goals for the tenth time in the last three months. That's too often for a side with top six aspirations. We can't rely on the attackers to score three or four week after week.

Think Reid has reached his zenith which sadly isn't ours.

We have every right to be disappointed.

If we beat Swansea and Stoke we would now be in the Champions League. Is there anyone here who if offered would have taken 7th with 3 games to go?

Add to that the 8 points in four drawn games that refs robbed us out of and we would have been second

He can't play off his right shoulder. He's incapable of it.

He's remarkably like John Terry in that respect.

I am just about (but not completely) over losing this game.

It still seems statistically impossible that we did!

Overall the best season for a long, long time. Here's hoping next season is as good.

talking to a stokie:

stoke hadn't scored from a corner all season
hadn't come from behind to win all season
hadn't had a decent performance from shay given all season
hadn't once had players on the posts at set pieces all season

The second one is cobblers so I suspect the rest are as well.

DL's right we didn't miss Payet . Made loads of chances. Stat i'd like to see is how many times did Sakho end up on his arse opposed to how many times he stayed on his feet. Even for the sitter.
