Oh yeah because I care I'm a knicker wetter...

I just don't want us to sleepwalk into relegation again.

Does anything about the club's activities over the last couple of years, in terms of manager and player acquisition, suggest a club that could 'sleepwalk into relegation' ?

Exactly this, there has been little-to-no drive or attacking fluidity we have become accustomed to last year and it's clear to see we've never left second gear. It's a workout, an exercise with the ball.

Saying that, Astra Giurgiu bundled us out of the Europa last year and our Europa game this year is in 7 days time. With only the Karlsruhe friendly on Saturday to be played beforehand I expect us to up the intensity a little and demonstrate that we do have some sort of attacking cohesion with our new additions and work a bit harder to win (which is actually needed in the Europa) as opposed to just having a kickabout. Soligorsk and Domzale will be no mugs as Slovacko and Rubin Kazan have demonstrated thus far.

I fully appreciate that pre season is mostly about fitness and trying different formations.

Having watched the highlights it does seem that we are having a bit wobble at the back. Whilst in fairness we haven't had more than one first team centre half on the pitch at a time, right backs not looked too good.

I noticed twice goals that went in could of been much better defended at the death. I don't think Antonio had any idea where is marker was.

Still not convinced he is the answer, but from an attacking point of view, he needs to be in the team. That Sofiane chap looks really useful, he can certainly whip a cross in!

I'm massively concerned that we've missed out on about 300 strikers this summer. I can see us spending big in panic mode then doing a QPR.

Hope I'm wrong of course!

This I why I won't go to pre season friendlies. They mean nothing. I include the Juve game in that.

I suspect the pre group euros will be the same. Season starts at Chelsea.

Quina, Cullen and Fletcher looking really promising in pre season so far. Was especially impressed with Quina vs Kazan. Considering he only 16 aswell, didn't seem like it!

no need to panic just yet, they were obviously a bit more into there stride than we were.

a few of the young lads looked to be trying too hard to impress instead of playing as a team, im sure if any get a chance they will play differently.

they were about 10 people watching so i think it would be hard to all jell and get into unbeatable team mode lol

It's a shame we didn't make a fist of it but I guess that is just the fickle finger of fate.
