"Cresswell will be able to take his place in the staring line up for thursday's Europa League match"

So Slaven's adopting rugby tactics. Impressive!

That's good news though Marc ta

Kitt the car wrote:Just watched it back and it's a 50/50 for both players to go for but why on earth has that lad gone in with a full force two footed jump? Cresswell gets the ball first and is caught by the opposition.

Hope it's not too bad but expect he'll be out for a month (at least)

If we don't get in a LB within the next week, who can realistically play there?

Nice to see Fletcher on the score sheet again, fully expect him to be a back up option for us this season
No doubt someone will correct me but I've watched it a few time now in slow mo and its almost like they both kick the ball at the same time or Cressy kicks his foot, and it dosn't look like the lad went in two footed either to me.
First reports good on injury

Don't get Winston angry. You wouldn't like him when he's angry.

I think they may have picked that up already given our disciplinary record in the Europa last season!

I didn't realise Noble took the player out who done Cresswell! But even then he took him out in a way that showed he was clearly fuming but didn't risk injuring him.

As for Reidy. Words can't express how much I love that. Well, maybe only Reidy could have the words to express it.

Great unity :crest:

I wonder if that's why the ref ended the match early, before it got nasty.

Only he may have said it in Kiwi.

johnnyb wrote:Whether or not Cresswell is badly injured, this just underlines how lucky we have been for him to stay fit for so long without a proper replacement available, not just moving a centre back over, which might be alright for the odd game but not for a prolonged spell. Hendrie was never going to make it and the position has been ignored for too long. Silly really when every other position has cover although right back also needs looking at if Bilic doesn't rate Byram.
Seconded. Even though he's fine , I hope the scare shocked Bilic and the owners into taking some action in terms of cover.

Watched the Cresswell tackle a few times now and I genuinely think they both kicked the ball at the same time to be fair and unfortunately Cressy came off the worse, think in hindsight the lads will see that but was nice to see the commaradarie from the boys in their reaction!

While it shows they're looking out for each other, if they carry it into next season there'll be a load of yellows and reds.

I've been a bit underwhelmed by tire if I'm honest, very early days I know and I'm not trying to jump on his back but I thought he was better than he's shown so far

Feghoulli on the other hand, what a free transfer!!

With Tore I think it's just a case of getting used to his teammates. But already hes shown some glimpses of some quick footwork, and some great first time lay offs. I've also noticed he doesn't mind getting back to put a defensive shift in. He'll grow into the role, I'm sure. As it stands though, I'm not sure he'd be in our strongest 11. Those positions would go to lanzini, payet, and Feghouli IMO.
