Manchester City 3-1 West Ham Utd (28/08/16)
Never mind ladies and gents, on to the next one! At least we can have a proper bash at the league again starting on Sunday. My first away game in a few years, it's going to be tough but who's to say we can't spring another surprise?!

The West Ham way would be to get a result here!
Unfortunately I can only see one result and that is Man City getting a hatful.

If we play like we have so far this season we are going to get thumped. Praying for at least one of Lanzini and Payet to be fit for this.

I really don't care about this game, we're out of Europe. Even by some kind of miracle we manage to pull this off then we're still not playing European football.

My Gooner supporting colleague reckons 2-2 ~ I'll have some of that
Re: Man City vs West Ham match thread
after our performances so far this season it's hard to feel positive about this but we do seem to pull out big game performances after a defeat like last night but it very much depends who is available to play.
I'd take a draw now but i fear if we play like we have we're in for a battering especially the form Aguero is in.

We'll get battered - even with rushing back some of our stars too early Never been so sure about a result as this one - not a cats chance in hell of anything other than further injuries or recovery setbacks to be gained here.... sorry folks

You can probably copy and paste the pre-kick-off match thread from last season; doom and gloom.
If I remember right by the time we played Man City last season hadn't they won five out of five and not conceded a goal? Stranger things have happened.

I have a tiny tiny tiny bit of hope. If there is any team in world football that can lose to Astra Giurgiu and beat Manchester City in the space of 4 days, it's us.

Re: Man City vs West Ham match thread
Problem right now is, where are our goals going to come from?
No midfield creativity and even if there was, not forwards to take the chances,
At best we can hope for a 0-0, but can see a 5-0 or higher hammering.
Then we have the international break, hard to believe that the seasons only just begun and we are in desperate need of a break already.

No Tore , Nordveit or Valencia please near the squad
Calleri on the bench for Fletcher if Zaza isnt signed on time.
Have doubts over Reid to so would put Ginger in

Fletcher to start, fingers crossed we have Payet or Lanzini available or both. Patience and fast counter attack. Aguero due a hammy pull!

Re: Man City vs West Ham match thread
Before all the slagging off on here post match let's remember the start of last season. Out of Europe by our good friends Astra in the 3rd qualifying round and only three points from the first three matches and that included two home defeats to Bournemouth and Leicester!!
So far we progressed one stage further in Europe this season and if we get a draw we will have more points than this stage last season. Even if we lose those losses are against Chelsea and Man City away!
Let's get behind them and who knows what will happen!

They've got one of the best managers in World Football, one of the better squads in European Football and we've just lost at home to the Champions of Romania...
2-1 away win.
