I've just seen that Chadli is in Garth Crooks' Team of the Week? How?
West Brom did not play well. We defended badly, if we bothered defending at all.

Re: The West Brom V West Ham Match Thread
Judging by last Thursday and Friday night he is still some way off match fitness. He is still in the pissed out of his head at 5am in a casino in Newcastle stage of his rehab. On the plus side he is losing a good few pounds, about 5k an hour.Colours never run wrote: We do, Andy Carroll. We've sorely missed him, just ask old Juve how they felt going up against him.

I dunno if I feel as optimistic the defence has been woeful now for the last 1 and 1/2 games (small sample granted) but we have taken nothing from 2 games where we should really have 4 points...Romford wrote:I thought we were very unlucky...and that WBA were cack. They are going down
Funny eh.
We lack pace...and a striker. Slav and Julian will sort the defence...and the shape.
No worrying here
I am mainly concerned about their motivation

Re: The West Brom V West Ham Match Thread
Still trying to get my head around the game,no one seemed to take any responsibility out there. We were happy to attack but didn't want to do the dirty work and i think the second and third goal summed that up. The first goal set the tone, it was an absolute gift, i just dont know what Masuaku was doing it wasn't even a good ball in the box. The second goal was kids sunday league stuff, just failing to clear our lines and mark our men, every time they got the ball they was allowed to turn. The third goal just summed the whole day up, it was pathetic. I know we were the chasing the game but at that stage to have every man forward for a corner and then have the game completely killed by giving them a free goal is just unforgivable.
We are in a bad run of form at the minute, and strangely there were a few positives to take from the game. But we do need a bit of balance in the team, i think Payet, Lanzini, Antonio and Zaza is maybe too offensive and we need another solid midfielder in there. West Brom were actually a bit rubbish Saturday, but they did get the basics right and for that alone deserved to win the game.

too many of our players only want to play going forwards. add to that individual errors by the defence and hey bingo you have the horror which is the reality at the moment.
Manager can sort this - needs to show a pair and make tough decisions in the name of results. Worrying but not terminal in my view.

We were a calamity defensively, but to say WBA were not good is just plain wrong. They executed their game plan to the letter, passed the ball well in the final third and put us under pressure defensively and we made mistakes because of that, and they capitalized on these and took all their chances. Added to that when we did make chances Foster did what Adrian didn't, he made crucial saves.

I disagree unusually mate...every time they came into our half they had a shot, every time they had a shot they scored.Estuary wrote:We were a calamity defensively, but to say WBA were not good is just plain wrong. If Barcelona did that they'd win 20-0 every week...

We gifted them four goals. WBA did well to execute the chances we gave them. Other than that, I thought they were a very poor side.
