Sunderland as a collective are terrible. Their centre backs are terrible and they lack creativity. That said, I expect Defoe to score. If they go down, it would be worth going after Jordan Pickford and Duncan Watmore. Both good young players.

Not an easy game at all.

You'd imagine if they lost that there will be massive hype in the media with Big Sam returning to Sunderland to keep them up again.

Two draws from eight games is abysmal but they've got a few decent players and won't be a walkover.

If we can get an early goal then we should get the win but I can see it being either 2-2 or 2-1 to us.

I am confused.

I had just got used to everyone being ****, waste of space, over the hill, needing a rest, et al.

Now we are going to tear someone a new one.

I can't keep up. I need to lie down.

Wake me in May when it is all over.

Can see us starting the game well and if we score early it could be a relatively easy win , I'm not sure we'll get that early goal though and can see this being a very edgy affair where one goal wins the game, hopefully it's us ! They have a few out injured ATM and one of their better players van arnholt went off yesterday which could be good news as I feel he could be the one along with Defoe to cause us real problems!

Like this. Pretty sure we'll revert to 4-2-3-1 with Cresswell out. Pointless playing 3-4-3 without the personnel. If anything it would be a hindrance imo.

Playing 3 at the back on the os pitch is asking for trouble imo it worked at palace but as their pitch is 74x110 yards it leaves a lot less space similar to Upton Park

Bilic has already said the system against Palace would only work with Cresswell, or Masuaku. Looks like we'll revert to four at the back for this one.

It all depends on if we can play as we played against Palace.

If we can, we will be grand.

If we don't, expect a rubbish 95 minutes.

The manager tell them to, the players know they should......but will they?

If we keep the same system:

---------------------Adrian

---------Reid---Kouyate---Ogbonna

Antonio-----Obiang-------Noble------Arbeloa

-----------Lanzini-----------Payet

----------------------Zaza

If we go to a back four:

------------------------Adrian

Arbeloa--------Reid-----Kouyate----Ogbonna

----------------------Obiang
-------------Noble--------Lanzini

-------Antonio-----------------------Payet
-----------------------Zaza

Looks like no Arbeloa on Saturday and Bilic has admitted that the system used against Palace will not work without Cresswell or Masuaku so for me:

Adrian
Antonio
Reid
Kouyate
Ogbonna
Obiang
Noble
Payet
Lanzini
Feghouli
Zaza

I would only be overly concerned about this one if they lost Moyes and got someone new in beforehand, which isn't going to happen.

**** knows if Zaza is a player or not, but after yesterday's effort I think he has to start. Same could be said for Obiang but I still see him as an away game man.

So, depending on fitness, I'd go:

..........................Adrian

Arbeola.....Reid.....Ogbonna....Masuaku

............Kouyate............Noble

...Antonio..........Lanzini...........Payet

..........................Zaza
thejackhammer wrote:I'd keep Obiang in for Defoe's sake. Masuaku is still injured so shift Ogbonna over to the left, move Kouyate into defence, Obiang partnering Noble.
thejackhammer has it right, for me - Obiang has had two good games back to back which have coincided with our two best performances of the season, and dropping him now would be a crime as a result.

If Arbeloa isn't fit, I guess pop Antonio back there.

We really have to be beating teams like Sunderland but it would be so West Ham if they got their first win of the season against us

We still need 3 or 4 points (at least) in the next 2 games to get further away from the relegation zone going into a very tough run of games

___________Adrian
Antonio Kouyate Reid Ogbonna
________Noble Obiang
___Feghouli Lanzini Payet
__________ Zaza

Kouyate over Collins because I just don't trust James anymore. I love the guy but he is liability I'm afraid. And Kouyate did well enough last week to keep his place
Feg to come in for Cresswell
Zaza JUST clinging onto his starting place with an improved performance vs. Palace. But this is his final final chance

Right, we're gona do this. I'm gona stick my neck out and say 3-1. We will start like we did against Watford and storm into a two goal lead. Only this time we will defend as a unit and make sure we get across the line.
