We scored from one of his crosses. Unless we're at the point where he's expected to provide two assists every game?

More importantly, have you seen this team play when he's not available? Virtually always sees a stodgy midfield performance that would struggle to cut muster in League 1.

Hope Randolph gets a chance to play this one. I like Adrian and there's no denying he has made some great saves in previous games but he's also prone to simple errors. Randolph has also made great saves in the games he has played, but I can't think of any mistakes he's made. Simple choice for me.

1-0 to us

team for me is this:

Randolph
Antonio Koyate Reid Ogbonna Creswel
Obiang
Lanzini Fernandes Payet
Ayew

Sorry to drop Adrian but he was soley responsible for our loss at the weekend, I love the guy and he has kept us in plenty of games, but he has also made a lot of mistakes and I don't rate his distribution at all. Noble being out is probably a good thing, against stoke I didn't see him pass the ball forwards more than once, always going backwards or sideways.

Coming off the international break anything can happen as form starts again and they have a lot more players on international duty..

2-1 win - Zaza to come off the bench and score the winner a 30 yard screamer*

*I'm joking of course it'll be an Antonio 2 yard header

Interesting to watch Chelsea on MOTD playing the same formation as us but making it look so different.

Chelsea's front 3 all worked together and got into the box at pace.

Whilst Payet & Lanzini are both brilliant footballers, neither of them get into the box at pace, and sadly we don't have a centre foward as good as Costa. Shame that Sakho is not playing as he could be really useful in this formation and would allow Ayew to play to one side of the attacking 3 rather than at the tip.

To make this formation work, we need some pace in the front 3, and for the wing back to be encouraged to get forward as much as possible, leaving the 3 centre backs and the 2 defensive mids to take care of the defensive work.

For Spurs I'd line up with:

--------------------Adrian
--------Kouyate - Reid - Ogbonna
Antonio - Obiang - Nordveit - Cresswell
-------Feghouli - Ayew - Payet

Subs: Randolph, Collins, Oxford, Lanzini, Fletcher, Arbeloa, Calleri

Harsh call to drop Lanzini to the bench.

They said that in March.
They said it when we went there playing 4-6-0.
They said that when we sent the reserves there in the league cup.

Our record against this mob is pretty good in recent years.

They're just 1990s Wimbledon with a bit of dough and a manager with a foreign name instead of Dave Bassett.

They're no Nottingham Forest from way back, or Arsenal from not quite so way back, they won't go indefinitely without getting beaten, I'm surprised it's not happened already.

They're overdue one.

I'm hoping we go out there and give them a bloody good game, maybe get a draw and hope for a win, What I really want to see is how the midfield does without Mark Noble.

I hope the midfield are more fluid and progressive and play with pace, not keep slowing down waiting Noble to do his 180' turn and pass sideways, backwards or putting a player under pressure. I really is an opportunity to see how we could cope without him.

Hand on my heart I see a score draw as realistic.

Quite a few of their team will be having anything but an international break.

I'm torn between cheeky 1-0 smash n grab....and going down by at least 4.

Considering that we now have a proper right back, cresswell back, and a defensive midfielder - I can't see any reason why we can't go back to the usual 4-2-3-1

-------------------Adrian/Randolph

Arbeloa-------Reid-------Ogbonna-------Cresswell

------------------------Obiang------------------------

-----------------Lanzini------Kouyate--------------------

Antonio-------------Calleri------------------Payet

or alternatively

-------------------Adrian/Randolph

Arbeloa-------Reid-------Kouyate-------Cresswell

------------------------Obiang------------------------

-----------------Lanzini------Fernandes-----------------

Feghouli-------------Antonio------------------Payet

It's a fair point. Most wins against this lot are unexpected for me.

Last time I expected to beat them was the '01 cup quarter final. Learnt my lesson.
