Yes mate, and he is better than Randolph.
We dropped him for a kick up the arse, I think he's got the message.
What didn't help was playing our number 2 for too many games. One game was enough for the kick up the arse, I know we haven't played well this season, but Randolph would not get into any other Premier League side as a starter... if you believe he would please name the club where he would be number 1.
Re: West Ham United v Burnley: Match Thread
Those picking Antonio at right back / right wing back. I don't understand it? he's our best attacking threat in my opinion.
Anyway I'm going with
Adrian
Nord Reid Ogbonna Cresswell
Ayew Noble Lanzini Obiang Payet
Antonio

Hopefully, a win 'to-nil'. Same with Hull.
If we keep the back door shut and compete physically, we'll take all the points because the front lads are back in the swing of it.

4-2-3-1
Randolph
Nordtveit
Reid
Ogbonna
Cresswell
Obiang
Noble
Antonio
Lanzini
Payet
Carroll.
Nordtveit did fine, and it's a lot different playing at Anfield defending than it is at home to Burnley.
If Carroll isn't fit then I'd go exactly the same as today.
Burnley don't like playing away at all, and are the type of team who you can easily dominate. We just need to be patient. Also as Phil S said, let's get the place rocking.

Re: West Ham United v Burnley: Match Thread
Nordtveit is shocking, ridiculous he even gets a game.
Did you see Reid rightly slaughter him in the second half? He followed Firminio I think it was to the halfway line when our defensive line was about 25-30 yards from goal, leaving a massive gap in the right back channel which they put a ball into. That's just basics, regardless of him not being a right back.
Yet to see anything to warrant him being signed in the first place. That's overlooking the obvious for our board, he was free.

He happens to be our #1, literally, as Adrian wears 13. Also he is an international #1 that played a major part in getting his country to last summer's Euros. Never mind the fact that his distribution is far superior to Adrian'sRow X wrote:... if you believe he would please name the club where he would be number 1.

That's good then... Adrian had the choice to wear number 1 but doesn't. So the reserve keeper gets the number 1 shirt.Bitter 'n' Twisted wrote: He happens to be our #1, literally, as Adrian wears 13. Adrian is Spanish and that means it's a lot harder to get an international cap... De Gea, Reina, Casillas etc..., whereas Randolph's competion for his cap is?
Also, if your judging a keeper on his kicking, your judging them on the wrong things.... I'd rather the keeper keep the ball out of the net than pinging 70 yard passes

Re: West Ham United v Burnley: Match Thread
No, I said never mind that his distribution is better. I'm not judging a choice of keeper on his kicking. His save to keep the score at 2-2 today was top drawer. As for Randolph's competition for places? Well it's a little bit more than it is at West Ham at the moment. And your argument for Adrian not being Spain's keeper is that there are better Spanish keepers… Sorry mate, you've done me there.Row X wrote:

Re: West Ham United v Burnley: Match Thread
We must win this. The point against Liverpool was great but means little if we don't beat Burnley and Hull.
We can't waste yet another chance to move up the table and gain vital confidence.
I see a hard slog and a 0-0 or 1-0 to us. Hoping for the latter.

Arguably Swansea, Everton and West Brom.
I reckon those lot would take Adrian or Randolph as their keeper this weekend over who they did have.

Re: A bit of positivity,,,against burnley
Can't get much more positive than last night's performance.
Very shaky down our right, but that will have boosted the old confidence.
Shame we couldn't win it.

Re: A bit of positivity,,,against burnley
Thanks F**k Slaven doesn't take any notice of the things on here or we would be 1 point worse off and also no nearer to regaining confidence.
After a great result at Liverpool I really believe we will push on over the next 4 games and get back to mid table come the new year.

Re: West Ham United v Burnley: Match Thread
I would keep the same team that got us a point against Liverpool, unless kouyate is back.
