Got a ticket lastminute.com

Got to the ground from home in 40min. Few beers in the casino.

Lovely beef pie at HT.

3pts. Not particularly great viewing. Back indoors by 10.25pm

Not that impressed with the stadium, but the view was ok. Been to funerals with a better atmosphere.

Obiang and Carroll done well. Wtf Kouyate is doing at the back I'll never know. Hopefully he'll be bqck in midfield Saturday.

4-2-3-1 is dead, not many teams playing it this season!
Not many playing our formation either. We had five touches in the opposition box against Liverpool, probabky not many more today except set pieces
I don't think Obiang, Noble, Lanzini and even payet entered the opposition box once
we simply play seven men behind the ball, give it to Payet, or hit it long and hope for the best

Obiang and Noble both hit the post in the first half, we dominated the ball and looked comfortable all over the pitch then the second half came and we seemed to want to keep it 1 nil rather than carry on as we were.

We were nervous in possession, hesitant in defence and completely devoid of any tactics. Uncomfortable as we have been all season. How can a team playing so confidently in one half turn in a second half performances like that. Luckily for us Burnley just didn't want to know.

Fair point, I actually thought we we're very good first half, dominated the half. Poor second half.

I do generally agree regarding the formation however, I really am not a fan of the 5-3-2/3-5-2/5-4-1/ whatever you want to call it.

I think it's gonna have to be 4-5-1/4-3-3 until the end of the season, just to see us through! badly need a right back in January.

Agree with this. I think we needed a bit more pace in an attacking area as they pushed up second half. We really just needed to get another goal or two where we were on top.

Second half got more and more nervous but we got the result through a mix of good defending & Burnley having no real idea.

I quite enjoy playing crap and winning.
To often we have been the better side and come away with nothing. I'd take the same on Saturday too.
What i will say is now that the players bar sakho are fit we need to decide on a formation and stick to it, almost finding our identity again. Let's hope it's not wing backs because kouyate is wasted there, mind you I don't think he came out of 2nd gear tonight.

Doesn't matter how you win in the position we are. Job done and the negative Hex at the rsoul bowl with no soul has been severed. More artistry, panache and class wouldn't go amiss on Saturday..
If he plays big Andy again up top, he needs to put him in a 2 with Antonio.

There were hundreds of empty seats. Nowhere near capacity lol.

That's Brady mucking around with the figures again.

Should also mention the highlight of tonight was meeting Clyde Best and got a signed copy of his new autobiography. What a lovely man, he's an absolute legend and it was great to see him downstairs in the club store. :)

Thanks for the advice earlier Wembley. As it happens, I didn't need it as the ticket did work, even though I had paid £0.00 for it, so I got in for free!

So, can't say it wasn't value for money, however poor it was

Funnily enough, as I was walking in, I overheard a bloke telling his boy that, if you resell your ticket back to the club for Ticket Trader, you receive only £2.50. Don't know if that's true, but I didn't feel too bad about it after hearing that.

We tried our best to concede 2nd half eh.

From the start we revert back to the snails pace possession against lower opposition. We looked threatening when we moved it quicker through the midfield, but all too often the game dies a death with that slow life pace. No wonder the stadium is quiet.

Glad we bagged the three points although hardly convincing (rebound off a missed penalty).

That reminds me. I've never seen so many head injuries in one season, let alone one game. I think they had 5 before our goal, all a load of nonsense to break up the play, especially near their box.

Carroll took too many elbows without a card for the defender also.

Sat back and let them come at us second half we seemed **** scared to attack they missed a few good chances as well plenty of ----ing around with it at the back, still 3 points was the objective .

Well done.

A terrible game of football but thankfully we somehow got the 3 points. What more can I say?!

Was a poor performance but the 3 points is what counts at the moment. This wing back system is hindering us going forward so much. Cresswell knows how to play and can play LB just as well but Antonio doesn't know what his doing as a wing back. We need to go 4 at the back Kouyate is good enough to be RB for now until January. Antonio is so much better running at defenders this is what we need from him.

Payet and Lanzini even though I like both players it seems every time Lanzini gets the ball he only passes it to Payet. So many times we had chance for a quick cross field ball and attack down the other side were not utilising. I would take another 1-0 on Saturday but we need a much better performance than we got tonight.

All clubs report 'attendance' as tickets sold .... no way the ground was full, there will be an official attendance published later ... my guess is 45-47,000 which is still pretty good and the same as we'bve had for most home games this season ....

Thousands of empty seats all over the Soulless Bowl tonight.

Novelty wearing off....and a sign of what's to come next June.
