Vague memories of Nicky Barmby beating us on his own for Hull at the Boleyn.
Or may have dreamt it.

Same starting XI, let's get a bit of consistency when possible.

Last seasons boys playing together with options such as Ayew, Fernandez and Fletcher on the bench.

Lanzini, Noble or Obiang need to be breaking their neck to get around Carroll a bit more though as he won pretty much every header and laid on some pretty decent knock downs.

Another huge game for us, need to stay patient as Hull will defend deeper than Burnley! And that is saying something.

we need runners around Big Andy.
Antonio and / or Ayew with Lanzini and Payet feeding them would be nice

Carroll does what he does best. Annoyingly, like pretty much all the time at the Burnley game there was no one around him or running behind. So he's virtually winning challenges for nothing. No pace up front as both Lanzini & Payet bless them have most things apart from that. Hmmm decisions decisions.

There's no bloody point in him winning knock downs and flick ons if there's nobody with the mind or ability to exploit them...

He needs to have close support from a character like Antonio or Ayew, somebody who's actually close enough and not afraid of a bit of running.

They're awful away. They've only won their first away game of the season (2-0 against Swansea). The rest are below:
Spurs (A) lost 3-0
Boro (A) lost 1-0
Sunderland (A) lost 3-0
Watford (A) lost 1-0
Bournemouth (A) lost 6-1
Liverpool (A) lost 5-1
Burnley (A) draw 1-1

That's 8 games. 5 goals scored, 24 conceded. 6 consecutive away losses.

We really should be beating them...

Or we play a striker with a shred of movement who is better suited to the rest of the players we have

gignac isn't any more mobile than carroll and we've got two of the three blokes who played behind in at OM (i rate antonio or lanzini higher than thauvin too), they didn't have any problem looking fluid up front and they definitely didn't play the knockdown percentage game.

Coming down on the train from the frozen north for this one (2nd visit to the LS - 'boro draw was my 1st). I don't see to many wins for us on my odd trip 'home'. Frustrating draw looms.

This looks like a 0:0 or 1:0 again. I think we will struggle to break down even their most fragile of defences. Hopefully a set piece will win it.

I'd play the same system and players with just one change:

---------------Randolph--------------
-------kouyate reid ogbonna------
Antonio obiang lanzini cresswell
------------ayew----------payet-------
-------------------Carrol--------------

Lanzini is better at everything noble does, with the exception of being an Englishman.
Obiang can sit, we have a triangle of creativity with payet, ayew and lanzini in the centre and ayew has the job of joining Carrol up top for knockdowns etc when we play long. That gives us three modes of attack.
1, passing through the midfield three all of whom can finish
2, long to Carrol with ayew playing off him.
3, cresswell and antonios pace down the sides.
