Stick with the same starting eleven as against Burnley. It was the first time that they had all played together this season. A bit of consistency will go a long way

Yes to this. 100%. I think the starting line up on Wednesday represented our best XI who are fit and available right now. They deserve another game to start to build understanding.BenniBlanco wrote:Stick with the same starting eleven as against Burnley. 2-1
Carroll & Ayew
This looks good. We were effective last year because of the pace on the counter. This year we do what all relegated threatened clubs do and keep possession until all their players are back in position, then try unsuccessfully to break them down.
Pace out wide people - then shovel it into the box for Big Andy

Exactly the same as Wednesday ... keep it tight and boring but win ... job done

Randolph
Nordveit. Reid. Ogbonna. Cresswell
Antonio. Kouyate Obiang. Lanzini
Payet
Carroll
We obviously need a new RB but otherwise this is our strongest starting 11. A midfield full of creativity, pace and strength and a front two who can cause chaos in different ways. No reflection on Noble who can come off the bench and start some games when others need a rest.

Re: West Ham Utd vs Hull City: match thread
No team with Nordtveit in it can be our strongest team.
I think we should go unchanged. A lot of our problems seem to be coming from nervousness, a lack of confidence and stupid slip ups, all of which should get less with a stable team sheet

I'm picking up what you're putting down. However, my preference is playing both Kouyate and Antonio further forward, particularly at home, against Hull. I think offensive is more important than defensive this time around.Korea Hammer wrote:No team with Nordtveit in it can be our strongest team.

Don't see Carroll being able to manage more than 30 mins, so Antonio up top and Fernandes RWB. If Hull are simply defending deep then move Kouyaté to RB and bring on Ayew at RW for Fernandes at HT.

West Ham 2-1 I'm going.
Snodgrass to dive for a penalty as usual.

I will be right Royally ****ed off if we do not win this game, they have a worse defence than us and don't score too many. If we don't win these type of games we are in big trouble Hull ar awful.

Do not fear Carroll will ruin them.61dicksey wrote:I will be right Royally ****ed off if we do not win this game, they have a worse defence than us and don't score too many. If we don't win these type of games we are in big trouble Hull ar awful.

Is the right answer.Doc H Ball wrote:.............................Adrian

I would even say, swap Noble for Lanzini or, al least, sub Noble for Lanzini second half.
We need Ayew, Payet and Obiang picking up the second balls from Carroll.
Re: West Ham Utd vs Hull City: match thread
It looked like for me in the first half that Kouyate was playing RB would prefer that as think we need Antonio further up the pitch. Payet crossing from the left with AC and Antonio in the box = goals.

Re: West Ham Utd vs Hull City: match thread
Spurs beat them 3-0 this week with the wing back system. Would stick with ours plus Nordveit could get exposed at right back, like he did at Anfield. He looked much more naturally suited to the back three when he slotted in there towards the end of that game
Brady and Robertson strong down their left, Snodgrass on the right. Hoddlesson and Livermore capable of bossing and probing from the middle. Sure to have more play than Burnley but less rigid , should give us more space.

Statistically a result like this is highly probable over the next 3 years. But not this weekend.

Why not ?Swiss Pauli wrote:Don't see Carroll being able to manage more than 30 mins, so Antonio up top and Fernandes RWB. If Hull are simply defending deep then move Kouyaté to RB and bring on Ayew at RW for Fernandes at HT.
He played 80 minutes against Burnley.

It could be if it resulted in a better balance, the strongest team isn't necessarily the one that consists of the eleven strongest players.Korea Hammer wrote:No team with Nordtveit in it can be our strongest team.
