Quarter finals are now one off games, up to the quarter finals they are same as before. Also not sure if it was approved but they tried to get games from the quarter finals that go into extra time if you have made your 3 subs in 90 minutes you would get to make 1 extra one in the extra time period.Oldun wrote:Are these one off games now,no replays, extra time and penalties ?

I thought that was the case,it's just I looked on the c2c website and it said it would be running a late train if there was extra time.

I'm confused.
In the event of the scores being level after ninety minutes, will there be extra time tonight?

No extra time tonight...
The FA is trialling a new format, subject to approval from the game’s law-makers the International Football Association Board (IFAB), which will see teams who have made all three changes during the 90 minutes of a quarter-final, semi-final or final permitted one extra during the additional period.
The proposed format change is the latest innovation to the world’s oldest cup competition after the FA announced that from this season onwards, all quarter-final ties would be finished on the day of the original tie instead of going to a replay.
From the Daily Express though so may not be true...

What? Seriously? So the big boys get to bring on another £50M striker in extra time?Boleyn Bound wrote:No extra time tonight...

At the same time sides do get cramp and injuries through exhaustion, for example Harewood in the FA cup final where it was like playing with 10 men, would have been beneficial for us.

Was he actually referring to me? I like the banter game too and was planning on starting with jokes about Bovver spotting an undercover journo or asking if the Muslamics were praying for halal pie and mash at half time again.
Red Bull London E15 0 - 69 Abu Dhabi Oil Magnates. All goals scored by John Stones' cagoule.

Yep, **** rule if you ask me. Takes empathise away from hard work and determination. Also allows the better teams to put on a decent senior player when the likes of us would be down to a kid in a cup tie squadDasNutNock wrote:

West Ham and BTTS 9/1, that'll do me.
I'll light up that cigar when it's 4-1 by HT pop pop pop
(Then be ejected for smoking in a public place).

Good luck with that. 8 windows staffed by the sunshine bus crew and one woman who actually knows what she is doing running around doing the work for them.psychoscoredthelot wrote:

Got no idea what way this is going to go....especially if Calleri has gone from seemingly sent home to being put in the starting line up.

Re: West Ham United V Manchester City: Match Thread
Feeling pretty confident about this one. Play like we did for the first 70 minutes against Man U [don't forget they were in cracking form too] but with 11 men and I'm happy. Hopefully our players will be buoyed by the injustice of that game and come out fighting. Also the cup is our only chance left this season. In addition, will Man City really be up for a cup game down here on a Friday night with other priorities? Finally, we've put in good performances against Chelsea, Man City in the league, Liverpool, Tottenham and Man Utd the other day so wouldn't be surprised if we come out of this with a result.
