It's true Boro had us under pressure at times, but we could have been well clear as Antonio should have scored 3 times, and we should have scored one of the two chances when Lanzini and Calleri fluffed their chances.
I thought a gram had a good match. He was not at all to blame for their goal as he covered the man at the centre of the penalty area who was more of a threat than his man on their left, but he could have been given another yellow on a couple of occasions, but the ref was consistent as he let Bernardo and Foreshaw get away with a lot more.
I thought Creswell had a mare in the first half and Boro did us a huge favour moving Traore to their left.

Cops got the bloke's top which he threw off, but think he got away. If it was at our place, it would be on News at 10.

A few coins exchanged as well.
That was insane. One punch and the guy went down. Then that whole area which had fans in it suddenly cleared. Very odd.

Thoroughly enjoyable game that could have easily been a draw if Boro strikers could finish chances created due to the panic induced by Traore's pace. Reid and Ogbonna totally dominant in the air. Both played really well IMHO. Byram still fails to impress. AC was an absolute handful today, and Calleri showed good movement when he came on, but just looks lacking in confidence. Hopefully the goal can help there. Feghouli was great first half, but faded a bit second half when we were under the cosh a bit. Another 3 points in the bag. So happy for Slav.

Another good win and so much more enjoyable watching in a proper football stadium. Apart from Feghouli, who wasn't nearly as good as last week, the team were all here last season. When we brought on two of the summer signings we didn't look so good. We are better than the bottom half of the table but can't match the top - but would have settled for that 6 weeks ago.
Some rather unfriendly Boro fans afterwards and with few police it could have seriously kicked off if West Ham were up for it - fortunately not.

When we win, everyone agrees with most things others post and are too pissed to type long posts

When we lose, no one agrees with anyone so discussions and arguments are rife. Analising virtually every play and/or players performance.

Weren't they kicking off when they were here last? Someone filmed it from a bus? A lad fending off loads of others? Or was that another team maybe...

Give Bilic a new four year contact. I said when we was in a mess, this will make Bilic a better manager for us in the long term.

Now the owners should back him with a new contract as a reward for all the rubbish he has been dealt with this season.

That's just natural psychology. Same way there are usually many more bad reviews of restaurants, hotels etc than good ones. People more likely to comment if they feel aggrieved, ****ed off etc, than if what they experienced is pretty good.
Of course, if the experience is really top drawer then that would encourage comment as well, same as a really really good West Ham performnace win against a top team would get a lot of comments.

A win against Boro is like popping out to your local restaurant and having a decent meal. EnjoyabLe for sure, but you don't feel the need to talk about it

I only saw the last 20 minutes so can't really comment on the game myself as we looked like we were in 'defend deep and hit on the break mode', which worked

Listened to first half in the car, second half streamed. What was very clear, listening and watching, was that the away support was remarkable.

Hats off to you.

Thought it was a good performance from the team.

Didn't take as many chances as we should have. From memory we missed the sitter at the start, another one where Antonio failed to a get decent touch from a gorgeous through-ball by Feghouli that would have him one-on-one. Another Antonio chance early in the second where he had a free header centered in the middle that was headed over. Lanzini's attempt on the through-ball, Calleri's snatched shot, and for good measure a very decent shout for a penalty for the tackle on Feghouli.

The scoreline could have been a blowout even if Boro took all their chances, they only had 2 shots on target all game. So before everyone's judgement is coloured by the excellent runs of Traore and an increased share of possession by Boro in the second half, we need to step back and remind ourselves that Boro had no end product. Our defense made more blocks than they had shots on target, and despite appearances, it was a comfortable win.
