Something isn't right with him.

Wouldn't be surprised if we've rejected advances from Liverpool for him.

I was happy enough with Feghouli today. Think his 2 best bits of play got absolutely butchered by both Antonio and Lanzini when they came. If Antonio took the touch better etc I think most would be looking more favorably on that performance

Think Boro looked **** scared of Carroll from the first second of the game. They are a small team when you look at em individually. Feel if we had more dead ball situations Carroll would have definetly got his hat trick.

Feel we need to make a call on Calleri one way or another. Stop dicking him around. Either bring him off the bench each week and give him 20 mins+ or let him go

Thought we passed the ball well today - Obiang was masterful in front of the defence - Reid and Ogbonna had good games and we used the width of the pitch well , particularly the left side - Carroll's first was simply magnificent , if I hear ' it's what he does best ' once more I think I'll scream - Carroll's cross field pass was worthy of the best midfielders , his second goal showed excellent awareness , Feghouli should have had a penalty and both Antonio and Lanzini missed glorious chances [ just goes to show we're creating ] - I was also pleased for Calleri today , he has worked hard when he's come on and shows good positioning , deserved a goal .
We are looking good once more .

Cops got the bloke's top which he threw off, but think he got away. If it was at our place, it would be on News at 10.

A few coins exchanged as well.
Started a few rows back. But why, who knows?
Very entertaing for us
Great game. Tough place to score, let alone 3
Fans were a little unfriendly after. But unorganised fortunately

Wonder how much was down to trouble at our place. Lots of talk beforehand and our coaches had an escort that Trump would have been proud of. Every road was blocked off to the A1.

I came up here when we beat them in the Championship and Carlton scored at the end in a similar game. Went drinking after and all good natured.

Mind you if I lived in that hole I'd fancy a bit of mindless violence as well.

Overall a good result, they outplayed us for a big chunk of the second half but then Antonio, Calleri and Lanzini all missed sitters that 9/10 should hit the back of the net, not to mention 2 penalty shouts turned away that no one could feel hard done by if given.

Should have won 6-1 against one if the tightest defences in the league, could have ended 2-2, 3-1 fair overall.

From the very limited highlights I've seen what I liked was that we seemed to have several players in their box multiple times. I know highlights are a bit weird but if that is how it was then's it's a bit reminiscent of how when we've been at our very best in the last couple of seasons and a very good sign.

Good points today. The lads are working for each other, displaying a togetherness and have a good shape about them - something we've lacked for large chunks of the season.

How did Cresswell play in general? From the highlights looked as though attack-wise he played well. Defensively?

3-1 flattered us. We rode our luck a bit, but we were worth the win.
AC looks so good when he's fit and chomping at the bit, and he scored a typical AC goal, plus one that shows his awareness and IQ much higher than some would have believed.
Another top performance by the big man.
My MOTM was Reid. He was everywhere and seemed to be at the end of everything sent his way.
Ogbonna had a solid game too, but seeing as he's been playing with an injury all this time you can only admire his strength and courage to go and give it his all for us.
We had a good first half overall, but the tables seemed to turn and 'Boro kept at us and we almost imploded again. The back line lost its shape and we were all over the place. Proof that the addition of a born leader at the back in Jose Fonte is a superb signing, and the partnership of Reid and Fonte for the rest of the season can only lead to us rising up the table.
Cresswell's bizarre near own-goal was in its own way a sign we were going away from the Riverside with 3 points. How that ball never hit the back of the net I'll never understand.
Calleri scoring was rather satisfying. Yep it took a massive deflection, but I felt he came on and really worked hard especially when we sadly reverted to 4-5-1 and he was isolated for 15-20 mins. Well done lad.

The defending for the Cresswell clearance off the crossbar was absolutely hilarious to watch.

Reid falling over and trying to grab the ball, Byram tackling himself and falling over and Cressy playing his own game of crossbar challenge.

Great win!

I think Cress has always had that defensive shaky stuff in his locker, he was always miles better going forward and I don't think he's had his head turned or anything.

The only thing different about him now is that since he's returned from injury he's clearly in a mind game with himself about protecting himself from it happening again, he's not going into 50-50s full blooded.

I've not seen another angle of it but it looked to me like Cresswell attempted to put the ball out with his left foot but the ball bounced off his right knee, deflecting it onto the bar. If true it's hardly a huge clanger and not something i'm going to lose any sleep over.

don't see how it flattered us mate. we should have gone one up from antonio in the first couple of minutes, nobes could have had a pen, fegs definitely should have had a pen, antonio had both that header and the through ball he could have converted, lanzini's dink for calleri which put him one on one which he didn't convert.

i don't think we've created more clear cut chances in any game all season.

We certainly rode our luck at times.
They had a good few chances too. Plus the whole Cresswell thing that's been covered the last few pages. We were pinned down for most of the second half and when two of our key personnel left for injuries we played deep and attempted to counter.
We outplayed them for the majority of the first half but I felt we eased off and gave them a lot of the ball in second. It could have backfired.

Only trouble I noticed all day was Middlesbrough knocking one of their own fans out in retaliation to us scoring which was frankly bizarre, was wondering if it was going to happen again after our second goal!! And after the game some moron muttering something about cockneys, barging into me as hard as he obviously could have done, recoiling off of me as I was taller and heavier than him and then promptly scarpering off again.

Aside from those isolated incidents I didn't see any trouble personally. I thought the stewards and police were some of the most friendly and respectful I've seen at an away game, or a home game in the last few months come to think of it. That's in stark contrast to going up there a few years ago, being harrased about standing all game and having a police video camera pointed at me for refusing to comply to with what wasn't a police issue. But it does say something when you can go away from home and feel better treated. The atmosphere inside the ground was top notch but then it was a proper football ground.

we should of scored 5 and we didnt run out of steam and we won ! The team spirt has improved fitness now.
we have a good break now before the revenge match against city. They play palace away in the cup the weekend before so hopefully they get a rough game and a few injuries. Would take a draw.

Need to sign a RB cover and striker cover then flog payet and invest in summer for a midfield playmaker type to replace the snakey
